I opened my eyes and stretched my hands and yawned, wincing as my hands hit the roof. I rubbed my eyes and realized that I was in the car and it was dark outside. I had eventually fallen asleep crying.

Obviously we had reached his house and he had no courtesy to  wake me up or alert me that we had reached his house. He left me inside the car. Only heavens could tell how long I had been sleeping. I sighed. Why he hated me this much didn't make much sense to me. It wasn't like it was my fault we were both stuck in this marriage. I took my phone out of my purse and checked the time. I stared at the phone in shock, I had been out for so long. It was 2 in the morning. Furious, I got down from the car, struggling for a moment. You see I was still in my wedding gown. Annoyed at my clumsiness, I banged his car door for extra effect. Hopefully he was watching.

That was when I realized the house. Huge wouldn't cut it. It was enormous with so many gardens. The garden lights and fireflies gave it a spectacular look and I could only stare gasping. I imagined painting all this when I had the time. I already had a firefly idea sprouting in my head.

I was hesitant entering the house. I felt like a commoner in princess wear. Certainly you couldn't expect me to walk to the house like I owned it.

There were no handles on the door so I pushed it but it wouldn't budge. I tried pulling too even though I knew that wouldn't work. Finally I put down my purse and removed my heels. I put my back on the door and pushed with all my might. Even with that, the door pushed only a slight little bit. But it was enough for me to slip through before it banged shut again. That pushing was enough cardio for a week, I tell you.

I had left my purse and shoes outside, but honestly I didn't care. I just wanted to get to my room and sleep. Just one problem I had to face again. The house was pitch black and I had no idea where my room was. Okay. Two problems. I tried to let my eyes adjust and caught sight of a staircase. Normally, bedrooms are up the stairs, right. I tried moving forward and realized my dress had been caught by the door. Great. I was too sleepy to care, so I pulled it till I tore and marched to the stairs. I had a number of accidents: the railing punched my stomach, my toe hit the staircase, several times, I hit the walls and railings of the staircase, before finally I reached the end. Sighing and sleepy and with the help of my hands, I tried to find a door. Once more I knocked my head on corners and walls before my hands felt the door knob to an unlocked room.

I breathed a sigh of relief and opened it wide. You will never appreciate the sight of a bed till you're tired and sleepy. The bed before me was my dream come true. Well any bed at the moment was welcome. Still exhausted, even after my long sleep in the car, I fell on the bed after hitting my foot on table. The duvet felt so good. I buried my face in it. 'This is going to be my bed and no one's changing that,' I murmured to myself as I closed my eyes to sleep.

Just when I reached sweet heavenly sleep, I heard the door opening. Omfg. 'It's a thief', my muffled mind screamed. Because there was no way in hell Matthew was still awake. The main door was unlocked if I remember clearly. 'I'm going to die. He is going to kill me. No! do something'. I slowly rose from the bed, trying as much as possible not to make any noise. If you've ever sat on an extremely comfortable bed with a double extra soft duvet, you'd know that's impossible. I still tried and grabbed the glass vase from the side of the bed. Then sudden light filled the room and blinded me. 'Do thieves put on the light.'

"Don't dare to touch me, otherwise I'll crash your head with this vase and stuck the pieces up your ass." I threatened him still wincing from the intensity of the light from the chandelier- omg, my room had a chandelier- up in the ceiling.

"What the hell are you doing here?" a deep angry voice asked. I opened my sleepy and light-pierced eyes to see the thief who'd dare ask me that. The vase dropped from my hand when I realized it was my dearest husband. He looked at me angrily and his cold stare froze me, but I still checked in the ground to see if the vase was alright. Didn't want my sweetest husband to start billing me on my wedding night

"I asked what the hell you're doing here." His voice reverberated again.

"I heard you the first time," I said finally rubbing my sore eyes. "If you didn't realize, I was trying to catch some shut-eye." I said bending down to pick the vase

"Get out!! This-" he said pointing his finger all around the room "-is my room."

"Unfortunate soul you are." I replied him shaking my head, "This was your room. Now it is mine." I said hugging the vase.

"Leave." He said, really pissed. I chuckled, his face looked seriously funny when he was angry.

"No." I said giving him a defiant look. How I managed to do that without dropping the vase remains a wonder. The artifact was really heavy.

In a blink of an eye he was hovering over me.  "Don't push my buttons ,just leave." He said through gritted teeth emphasizing each word.

I smiled and fell back on the bed sinking into the duvet. They smell and feel so good. There is no way I'm leaving them. After all I'm the mistress of the house. Right? Right..

"Look, I'm really tired and I'm not in any mood to continue this argument. We will continue this tomorrow ok? Now leave." I said and turned to face him. His face was as hard as stone "Pleaseeee Matty." I added with a fake smile showing all of my teeth. And just to make him understand I wasn't going anywhere I covered myself and hugged the vase.

I could feel his glare bore through my forehead and I opened my eyes in time just to see him leaving.

"Put off the lights" I screamed after him. In response he banged the door. I didn't care, after all it was his house.

But I had just rolled in the covers really comfy and it hurt my poor soul to up and put off those lights. So after thrashing around trying to sleep in the full glare of the lights and insulting his assholic ass for a minute or two I finally got up and switched off the darned lights. There should be a remote control for these things.
