Chapter 1
Was I dead? I did not know. I felt no pain. Was I floating? I could not care. Just let me sleep in the dark. Wait. There is a light. A bright ray of light shining in my darkness. Please go away. Let me rest in peace. A voice is calling to me, "please go away." I hear myself mumble. I resume to my endless darkness and lie alone. There is warmth at my lips. I feel it travelling down and through my entire body. It feels nice. My eyelids flutter awake and I see him. He sat beside me, cradling my head in his lap. I see the huge weeping willow, with its leaves swaying in rhythm to the wind. The summer heat hits me in my face, making me blush. I raise my hand and see it blood-stained. Dark stains of colourful ink stained my hands in a pattern of swirls.
"Are you alright?"
Then I realise that he was my friend who died in 2008.
"Skylar..." i whispered, my eyes wide open in shock of finding him here with me.
"Hey, never thought you'd be down here." came the sweet reply.
"Where is this...place?" i ask.
"Oh, this? This place is Hell." Skylar tells me with a hard edge.
"Hell? Where are all the fire and dark caves?"
Skylar chuckles loudly, "Oh, you are so funny. What i mean is that this place is like Hell, but it isn't Hell. This tree you see here, is part of our memory, right?"
"Um...yea." i say, motioning him to continue.
"Well, believe it or not, we are actually trapped in our memories. This entire place is built on our memories of our past life- everything here is fake yet real at the same time." Skylar explained.
"But, how are we trapped here in the first place?" i ask.
"No idea. When i died, i woke up to find myself here. Been trying to escape ever since though hardly made any progress. Thats when i figured that i was trapped in this dimesion of some sort." Skylar tells me.
"Well, i ain't gonna stress about it now, i feel tired, for some random reason i just want to sleep."
"Alright, go to sleep then, i'll protect you." Skylar comforts me as i snuggle deeper into his embrace.
"Skylar?"
"Yes?"
"I'm glad i died."
"I'm glad i got to see you again, Asila." Skylar whispers as we both fall into a sleep-like trance.
Third person's POV
Little did they know, a shadow watched from a distance, and suddenly disappeared in the wind, leaving behind golden sand.
