grayson's pov

I park my car in hunter's driveway before getting out and walking to the front door. I knock on the door, immediately hearing cara's voice. "h hurry up! your mans is here" I chuckle at her choice of words before hearing
hunter's voice.

"stop saying that!"

the door opens, my heart beat picking up its pace at the sight of the beautiful girl standing in front of me. "h-hi." hunter shyly smiles at me. I take a moment to look her up and down.

the red silk dress making her curves stand out more, the black heeled boots making her just a bit taller, her long brown hair slightly curled and slit in her dress, showing a little more of her left thigh, making her look ten times more gorgeous.

"you look absolutely gorgeous, hunter." I say, my eyes meeting with her soft brown ones. her cheeks turn pink from my compliment as she looks down. "thank you, y-you look r-really h-handsome." hunter says, looking back up at me to make eye contact with me for a few seconds before looking down again.

"thank you, now shall we."

I watch as hunter smiles, talking about her and her sisters relationship, her soft brown eyes never leaving mine until she hear my words.

"I honestly can't get over how beautiful you are." she shyly smiles at my compliment, sitting there looking so sweet and innocent.

after hunter and I arrived at the restaurant, sat at our table, ordered our food and talked a for awhile we got to know a lot about each other.

I learned that hunter was adopted at five and that she has an older sister also. she also explained further into detail about that situation with that guy at the diner.

even though I knew this from cara, but she told me they've been friends since she was 7 and cara was 9. it amazes me how strong their bond still is, most friendships that last that long are just boring and not the same as it was from the beginning.

I'm starting to feel like she's warming up to me, she holds eye contact, doesn't stutter as much, and actually asks me questions now.

"so you're telling me you've never been in a relationship?" I ask as hunter takes a sip of her water. "don't make me feel more like a loser, grayson." she says putting her glass down. "that's not what I was trying to do." I say half laughing as I try to defend myself.

"relationships were pointless as a teenager, why spend my time on someone who's just going to leave me in the end?" hunter shrugs. "well, what about now?" I ask, her brown eyes meeting with mine again.

"I-I'm open for a r-relationship now."
