Chapter 6

Kira POV

It's kind of like my dream right now. I am walking, alone, and there are no sings of anybody around me. The only difference is that this time I'm showing up at school one hour early instead of walking to a party at midnight.

My mum told me that this deal that we had on the house was one of a kind, and it probably is. The landlord came for a visit yesterday and told us that the tests are what counts the most; the tests and summative projects. Thank God I met Liam.

I arrive at the school and enter through the familiar archway, still feeling confused. Where am I suppose to go again? Just before I can finalize my decision someone tackles me from behind and pulls me into a hug.

"Kira!" squeals Jaclyn. "Where the hell were you yesterday?"

I sigh thankfully. "Well, I was in a stairwell with Liam,"

She lets go and her eyes fly open. "But you just met!"

"How does that make any dif-" I stop and stare at her, my eyes flying open as well. "I'm not a fucking slut Jaclyn! No!"

Then I start explaining everything, just like I did will Eleanor, and she listens. I hesitate at Craig's part but decide to tell her. After all, I think that I can trust Jaclyn.

"That's what happened to Craig?" gasps Jaclyn. "Everyone said that he ditched Liam's family and left!"

I shake my head. "Honestly, I don't know what you guys believe here but I don't think that you believe this kind of stuff,"

"Well, his popularity lowered a notch since then," she admits. "He would show up with red eyes every freaking morning for a week. And people tended to make fun of him since then. His only escape was P.E. class-"

"I wouldn't make fun of him," I sigh. "It must be hard loosing someone close to you,"

"I guess," she shrugs.

We walk up a set of stairs and I arrive at my locker. "So Jaclyn, why'd you come early this morning?"

She shrugs once again. "Last minute studying,"

"That's a good idea," I agree, grinning. "I should do this every morning,"

I pack all my books in my bag and we start to compare our timetables. It turns out that today we don't share any classes and I groan.

"I think that Niall has Spanish as well," she says, pointing at a small box on the paper. "So you'll have him with you today,"

"Yeah, and I know for a fact that I have dance with Danielle. I'm not too sure about Zayn, Harry and Liam though,"

"Zayn?" she asks, puzzled. "Who's that?"

I look up at her. "The boy with the quiff that writes poems and stuff,"

"Him?" she wrinkles her nose. "You're friends with him?"

"He's actually really nice once you get to know him," I mutter. "Don't judge people like that Jaclyn,"

Jaclyn puts her hands up defensively. "Okay sorry. Maybe I should hang out with you more,"

I forgive her, and yet there's still a bit of anger inside of me. I force a smile upon my face. "You should,"

There is brief and awkward silence as Jaclyn checks her phone and it's perfect for me to reflect on my thoughts. Why can't I forgive people easily? It was the same with Liam; it took me time to forgive him. Forgiveness is a good quality to have, and yet it's quite bad. It all goes back to the concept of love that my mum explained to me. Something that we don't need in our lives. Well, in order to forgive you need to love right? And love is something that has been hard to find, but I truly believe that I've found it now.
