Lost In Reality (Tokyo Ghoul X Harry Potter)

Hogwarts

Hermione POV:

After I'm sure Kaneki is asleep, I start up a conversation with Harry and Ron, "it doesn't seem like he rests much" I say with concern "I noticed that too" agrees Harry "I mean He just had coffee" adds Ron.

The train bumps and Kanekis head slips to my shoulder, I blush profusely as Ron looks and scowls at him, "Why are his nails painted black?" Ron asks while looking at his hands, "and his bloody hair, why is it white?", I examine him for a moment "It doesn't look artificial" I say, "you mean it's natural?" asks Harry "Yes" I reply.

They watch him as if he is a wild animal about to attack, and I can't blame them right after they saw him lick up Malfoys blood, while we are all observing him and the booth is completely quiet his hand clenches up into a fist and he quietly growls, Ron raises an eyebrow "what the hell" I just shrug it off, the movement causes him to shift and nuzzle into my neck, I awkwardly smile and pat his head which seems to have calmed him down, the rest of the ride we sit in uncomfortable silence and, the train stops and I shake Kaneki awake.

Kaneki's POV:

I'm shaken awake by Hermione telling me that we're here, I grab my belongings and head out of the train to meet Dumbledore, apparently, this isn't a usual sight as everyone around is staring at me with their piercing eyes "Professor Dumbledore? what are you doing here?" asks Harry, Dumbledore ignores the question "This is Kaneki I presume", the three nod in union he turns to me with a warm smile "Hello Kaneki" he greets kindly "hello Albus" "Yoshimura had told me a great deal about you" "Same here" "I have been made aware of your situation" "Good" " Shall we get going, there are some people I would like you to meet" he then turns away from me and starts walking off, "Wait! What about the feast?" Shouts Ron, I turn around and glare at him "I'll be there" and turn around to follow Dumbledore, I can feel their lasar like stares piercing the nape of my neck.

We get to the teacher's lounge, Dumbledore claps getting everyone's attention "Everyone I would like you to meet someone" Albus announces, all the teachers turn to face me, "This is Ken Kaneki he will be attending as a fifth year, he is a ghoul from Japan and will be here for some time" they all seem relatively calm about having a ghoul in their school, "my name is professor McGonagall" a woman says "Severus Snape" a man says coldly, "Hagrid am the groundskeeper, ye can come down to my hunt to eat whenever ye need to" I nod to him gratefully, Albus turns to me "I would like you to go with Severus, he will take you to your room and get your coffee" I nod in understanding and follow Severus out of the teacher's lounge.

After we walk for what seems like forever until we finally get to my room, he opens the medieval style door and I am instantly blinded by brightness, once I can see again I walk in and can see a king size bed that looks new with two night stands on each side of it, the room has a window with a place you can sit and look out at the world, in the center of the room the floor seemed to indent to create a pit kind of feel, it has two chairs and a couch with a coffee table in the middle of all it, on the wall opposite to the window it has three bookshelves filled to the brim with you guessed it books.

"This will be your living quarters," Severus says "Thank you" I mutter, he seems taken back but resumes his composure, he's probably not used to gratitude after all he is an intimidating man, I carelessly throw my things onto the couch and walk with him to a lab of sorts he goes to a cabinet and pulls out a bag of dark roast coffee and a coffee maker.

"Why aren't you scared of me?" he says questionably, "Why should I be," I ask bluntly" "All the other students are" he says "I've seen horrors you that would give a man like you nightmares" he stares at me for a moment and pauses before speaking again "Your interesting" I glare at his remark "You may call me Severus from now on" he says with a rare smile, I nod.

"We best be going to the feast, you will be sitting at the staff table, coffee will be supplied," he says, my hand goes to my back pocket and I take out my mask and put in on, he smirks at the mask, "Why would you need that Kaneki?" "Instincts," I say with no emotion he turns back with a smirk on his face.

We walk into the main hall for the feast with the large doors closing behind us, all eyes turn to us walking through the middle of the hall and I hate it but once I examine the faces I see some curious eyes, some shocked, and some scared, and one I could only say was filled with a sort of crazed glazed over look but once I met eyes with that person all it was placed with was confusion.

Once we get to the front Severus goes and sits down as I start to follow him Albus stops me and whispers "I would like you to stay up here with me for a moment" I nod and stay at his side, he steps up on the podium "Ah right on time!" bellows Albus as all the students look at him some look at me in confusion "This is Kaneki Ken, he is a fifth-year student, however, he will not be given a house" when Albus speaks those words I hear a few gasps and whispering emit from all the tables, "Please, please quiet down students I know this is a first but I hope you will treat him with respect and accept him as a fellow classmate", he steps down from the podium and nods as an indicator to go and sit down at the staff table, as I am walking I can feel their piercing stares on my back and I know that there probably isn't as many kids staring at my back but I still need to have my guard up if something happens.

while still in thought I sit down between Hagrid and Servus finally come to my senses when I catch a whiff of human food and reel back in disgust trying my best to not throw up I do my best to not smell and unzip the mouth of my mask and take a sip of my coffee that was supplied to me, to my surprise it tasted like the coffee with sugar cubes that Yoshimura would give me, I give a small smile feeling a sense of home, when I look back up Hagrid is giving me a kind smile I just give a fake smile back.

I take another sip of coffee and when I lift my head up again I can feel the three staring at me, I find them in the crowd and give them a glare as well as anyone else doing the same Severus smirks while all I can think is that this is going to be a long ride and harder than I thought.
