The dinner party was getting good. We was all eating Ms. Dorothy good ass food that she cooked for her family. I felt loved when she invited Kee and I. I never had a New Year's dinner. Keegan never cooked it or made dinner for me. She just tell me to visit family and eat from them. We never had a get together. Well yesterday and early this morning we did. I had fun but Danny had to ruin it. Same for Marilyn.

"You want your cornbread?"angle ask me while laughing.

I shook my head at her. "When you going home?"I ask.

"I don't know"angle shrugged her shoulders. Keegan walk back to the table with Demi and Kairi. "When you going back to New York?"angle ask.

"Why you worrying about me?"I ask.

"You was worrying about me first"angle said.

"Y'all both shut up"Keegan said laughing while cleaning Demi face. I look down at my phone seeing a text from a unknown number. I narrowed my eyebrows at it then open the message.

?- Dave how you gone let that bitch hurt me like that?😤

Me- who the fuck is this?🤔

?- Danny. Marilyn gave me your number 😊

Me- Danny tell Marilyn to go suck a dick and leave me alone

Danny- I want to talk to your wife about what happened

Me- you aint talking to my wife. That shit dead. Lose my number before I come looking for y'all and beat yo ass myself

Danny- unless Marcus get to you first😏

I stared at the phone not even listening to what Keegan was saying. "Dave"she slap my thigh. I look at her with a blank face. "What's wrong?"she ask.

"N-Nothing"I stutter. She sat back in her chair looking at me. Mike chuckled softly shaking his head. "What?"

"You lying. Yo ass stuttering and shit"Mike said.

"Baby tell the truth. What's wrong?"Keegan ask. I didn't want to stress her out and tell her that Marcus is coming back to hurt us. But I'ma have to

"Danny was texting me"I showed her the text messages. She tried to scroll up to see if I texted her before but couldn't. "She said unless Marcus gets to me first"

"Fuck Marcus"Mike said.

"Oh my god"Keegan rubbed her head. "What if this bitch told Marcus where we live Dave"

"I might have to get y'all an hotel room for the night and go back to the house just to see if he will show up"I said.

"No"Keegan shook her head no.

"No. No what?"I look at her with a mean mug.

"I don't want to leave you alone in that house with a crazy ass man who might kill you"she said. 

"Look, I'm doing this to protect my kids and you. You ain't going back to the house"I said. Keegan became quiet and folded her arms.

"Think about the kids girl"angle said. "Besides it will be like a sleepover. We get to order candy and drinks and movies...."

"Not on this card"Keegan said.

"No, we using Dave black card"angle said. I rolled my eyes at her and got up.

"Come on, we have to go. It's getting late"I said. Keegan grab the boys from Mike and angle settling them in their car seats.

I look back at the phone seeing another text messages from someone else.
