Recap:
Yuki sighed. "What will I do with you," She murmured as she ruffled his short black hair. Then, she smiled. "But, what would I do without you?" She laid down, and fell asleep quickly.
Chapter 2 - C-Char-i-stics of a Hotaru
***Age 6***
"Hmm." Aoi said thoughtfully in a childish voice, flipping through a small book. "The c-char-i-stics," Aoi struggled through the word. "Of a Hotaru is black hair and black eyes. When the K-Kekkei Genkai is in use, the user's eyes would glow bright golden yellow, and they would able to 'see' in the dark, even if they were blindfolded. However, 'seeing' isn't the proper word for it. The user's eyes sense the objects around them, and would have a picture of their surroundings in their minds. In the beginning, the images are usually black and white. After a three years or so of using this Kekkei Genkai, the user should be able to add color in these images. However, this would use a little bit of chakra. Also, they would be able to dart around quickly, whether in the dark or in the light."
Aoi frowned adorably. "Daddy, I don't get it. Why do I have blue hair and yellow eyes? Am I not born in the Hotaru Clan?" Tears started to form in her eyes.
Roku, her dad, began to run around the room panicking and waving his arms around. "Ahhh! Yuki! Help meeeee! Aoi's crying."
Yuki stomped into the living room from the kitchen. "Roku! What did you do this time?" She irkmarked as she bonked him gently on the head. Then she looked at Aoi, and wrapped her into a warm hug. "It's okay, Aoi-chan. Ignore whatever Daddy said or did." She cooed.
"How cruel of you, Yuki!" Roku anime-cried, and then waved his arms about. "It wasn't even my fault this time!"
"Mommy?" Aoi sniffled.
"Hmm?" She smiled, bonking Roku on his head as he complained.
"Am I part of the Hotaru Clan?" Aoi asked innocently as her dad grew a lump on his head.
"Yes. Now, who put the idea that you weren't into your head?"
Aoi pointed to the book, frowning. "It said that Hotaru people had black hair and black eyes. I have blue hair and yellow eyes."
"Well, I'm not sure where you got the blue hair from," Yuki started. 'Well, actually, my grandpa had it, but he's dead now and I really don't want to explain death to Aoi-chan at this age.' "But you have those beautiful golden eyes. You can see in the dark with them, right?" She asked gently.
"Yeah?" Aoi looked up with adorable wide yellow eyes. Yuki had to resist the urge to coo again.
"Then you're a Hotaru!" Yuki grinned at her daughter, and poked her in the nose.
"Okay!" Aoi smiled, as Yuki hugged her, smoothing out the wrinkles in Aoi's blue dress.
"What a adorable scene!" Roku cried out as he whipped out a random camera and started taking many pictures of Aoi and Yuki.
Aoi giggled, running to him. "Daddy!" Aoi beamed. "I wanna be a ninja just like you!
Yuki laughed as she walked over to the two. "You'll have to wait another year, honey." She smiled lovingly at the two.
Aoi pouted adorably. "But I don't wanna!" She complained.

Aoi's P.O.V.
"Alright!" "Let's go to that intertown thingy to visit!" Mommy exclaimed.
"Huh?" I questioned, looked up at Mommy from where I was coloring in a picture of a house.
"There's a new town! Remember, the Hokage made a mini-speech about hoping all the Great Nations would work together, and have a town they could all travel and rest in without being attacked?" Mommy explained.
I thought about it. "No." I told her sadly. "I don't remember."
Daddy shrugged. "Me either."
Mommy anime-fell. 'Mommy isn't being nice.' I thought as I frowned.
"A-Anyways, this is the town he was talking about! It's called...." Mommy looked down at the pamphlet. "....New Hope! It even has a bathouse for me, a park for you, and a.... a..." She looked at the pamphlet again. "Erm, a ninja store for Daddy!"
This time, Daddy anime-fell. "If Mommy and Daddy do it...maybe I should do this too...." I whispered not-so-quietly to myself as I also anime-fell.
Mommy and Daddy sweatdropped as I got up. "There we go! We do things as a family!" I gave them a cheesy grin as I held up my hand in a 'thumbs up' position.
"Anyways, we really should go there! Other people from other nations are there too-I want to see and talk to some of them!" Mommy grinned.
"Please, Daddy? Could we pleeeeeease go!?" I shouted as I jumped up and down before looking at him with puppy eyes. "Pleeeease!?"
"Why not? I don't have a mission right now, so....We can all go together!" He grinned. "Although, I'll probably find something else to do than browse at the ninja store, we already have tons of those in Kohonakagure....." He muttered at the end.
Mommy smacked him with the rolled up pamphlet as I cheered, hugging Mommy and Daddy. "Let's go now!" I shouted excitedly, marching to the front door.
"Um, but we haven't packed yet..." Daddy said, sweatdropping.
"Awww!" I pouted. "Pack quickly then!" I made little shooing motions at Daddy, which Mommy deemed were adorable. As Daddy went to get the suitcase and pack his clothes, Mommy picked me up and brought me to my room. "Hey!" I complained.
"You have to pack too, sweetie." She gently reminded me.
I grinned up at her. "Okay!"
