My senior year was approaching fast. I was in my last leg of my junior year in high school, one of the youngest: only sixteen. Andy, one of my best friends in school who just happened to be in this totally awesome band, told me to meet him in the school lobby for some great news. It's high school, how great can it possibly be?

"(Y/N)!" Andy joyfully greeted me as I got off the school bus.

"Hey!" I was weirded out at his strange behavior.

"How are you today?" He was acting strangely nice.

"I'm...fine." I kept giving him a weird look as he dragged me by my forearm into the school. His other band mates that I didn't know very well were standing in the corner.

"That's great!" We reached his friends and he finally let go.

"You said you had news?" I asked.

"Yeah!" Andy shouted. The other guys were smiling wide and glancing at one another.

"Well?" I tried to make them spill.

"We're going on tour!" He shouted really fast, a frozen smile on his face.

"What?" I said quietly, not believing what I was hearing. I couldn't let my best friend leave me.

"We're...going on tour." Andy noticed my devastation and grabbed my hand gently.

"That's...great." I sniffed, trying to hold back my emotions.

"Hey, we're leaving in two days." He nudged me. "How about tonight, you come over and we celebrate by ourselves."

"Really?" I perked up. I always loved spending alone time with him, we mostly had to be with his band.

"Yes. I promise." His touch was gentle as his hand ran down my arm and let go.

The evening couldn't come fast enough and when it did, I swear my body wouldn't stop shaking. I got dressed as best I could to impress him. Maybe I could leave a mark and make him feel things for me he never felt before.

"Hello again!" Andy joyfully greeted me at his front door. This first tour has to be the best thing that's ever happened to him.

"Hey." I pushed hair out of my face and welcomed myself in.

"I've got our favorite movies set up with all of our favorite foods. It'll be like we're kids again!" He gently grabbed my hand. He was doing a lot of that lately.

"Sounds great." I walked further in at his lead and plopped on the couch.

"I'm gonna' miss you." Andy broke the silence as he fiddled with the remote to get the movie on.

"Same." I giggled nervously. Nothing like a young romance.

"Me and you...all night." He teased, sitting close to me.

      "Perfection." I joked.

"You're telling me." His arm quickly wrapped around me shoulder and pulled me deeply into his chest.

Through the whole first movie I nearly dozed off to the sound of his breathing. We never moved from our position. My heart never beat so fast and neither has his.

"You doing okay?" He said quietly, nudging me off of him. I looked up and credits were rolling.

"Yeah." I realized that the end of this first movie was getting closer to the time that I would have to leave him.

"Hey, don't cry." He noticed it before I could.

"I'm not?" I touched the tears rolling down my cheek.

"Wait here." He bolted out of the room, leaving me in the silence.

"Andy?" I shouted, not wanting to be alone for too long.

"I'm here. I'm here." He was breathing heavy from running up stairs.

"What's that?" I stared at a small velvet box.

"This is for you." He opened it to show a small ring. "This is my grandmother's ring. I want you to have it...as a promise ring."

"Promise of what?" I asked as he slipped it on my finger.

"I promise to always come back to you and just you."

"Excuse me?" I was somewhat confused.

"I want you to be mine." His voice was barely audible.

"Are you...serious?" My body was so overwhelmed with emotion that I didn't know how to react.

"I'm always serious." He said, eyes glistening in front of me.

"I believe you." I whispered staring at his lips.

His hand fell to the back of my neck and we slowly leaned in. His upper lip glided over my bottom lip and closed firmly. He scooted closer to me and I ran my fingers through his hair. It was the perfect night.

"This isn't goodbye." He said in a husky voice as he released me. I nodded gently.
