It was 6 o'clock in the morning. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the trees were motionless. It was a perfect day. I got out of bed and went downstairs. As I approached the hallway there was a newspaper hanging out of the letterbox. I curiously removed the newspaper from the letterbox and saw on the front cover was about the outbreak. I paused and thought to myself how this disaster was still going on! I threw the newspaper on the sofa, grabbed my car keys and headed straight to work.
As I got into the car and started it and turned on the radio. The radio was even mentioning the outbreak. At the this point I was scared. My lips trembled and my heart beat was syncopated to the point where I would miss breaths. I finally got to work with minor problems and headed for the head quarters.
The headquarters was a tall building with lots of windows and a modern design. As I walked through the hallway to the chiefs office which his door was a clean shave of a rich material with his plaque in gold with the name "Viron"
I entered the office and saw the chief enjoying his morning coffee. I looked at him with a serious look and he done the same with his big bulging eye and his short grey hair. He wore a grey suit with a white shirt and grey trousers with smart, polished shiny black shoes. A perfect look for a man with such a high position.
"Good morning officer James how was your night? Did you sleep well?" asked Viron.
"Grand as always chief!" I replied.
"That's good because today is a very big day for you!" He shouted.
"So this assignment is about the princess of the Amazon as I last recalled" I asked.
"You recalled correctly as always James" he said with a strong tone.
"Is there any questions before we send you off the to the armoury?" He added.
"No i'll think I can handle it" I replied.
"Best of luck!" Viron muttered
As I left the chiefs office he gave a sudden and unusual grin as I looked at him. He then looked down at his newspaper and continued drinking his coffee. I left for the armoury which I have no idea where it is so he's helpful! I ran down to the centre of the hallway where there was an infomation point.
"Ahh hello! You must be the new recruit!"
"Yeah I am" I replied.
"Well can I help you with anything?" He asked
"Do you know where the Armoury is?" I said with confusion
"Certainly just take that lift there to the bottom floor and it's the first door on your right!"
At this point I was at the armoury before you knew it. I took 2 handguns, A shotgun, a few grenades and a sharp 10inch blade just in case of close encounters. I set off straight away for the the long road ahead!
