2: The night before

~your POV~

We all went up to our rooms with the concierge helping us with our bags. Nicole and I to one room, and my parents and brother Caden, to another. We got to the room and were settling in, but it was only 10 pm and the night had just started:)

Nicole: "wanna go to the pool or maybe go in the jacuzzi?"
y/n: "ooooo yeah that sounds so fun!"
Nicole: "okay let's get our bikinis on and head down there"
y/n: "kk"

Caden came to knock on our door and asked if we wanted to go to the jacuzzi, and we told him that's where we were going anyways, so we said he could come.

Y/n: "Caden, bring the speaker so we can listen to our music"
Caden: "okay let me go grab it from my room rly quick"

Caden got back to our room with the speaker and we walked down to the pool. We were totally relaxed in the jacuzzi, jamming to our music, probably bothering the guests at the hotel, but not caring lol bc we were having a blast.

All the sudden a girl that kinda looked like Nicole and I's age, but maybe a little younger, so maybe closer to Caden's age, came down and joined us in the jacuzzi.

Y/n: "hi, I'm y/n, what's your name?"
K: "hey, y/n I'm katie"

I could tell that Katie and Caden were eying each other. They could look cute together in my opinion. We all continued conversating and talked about what sports we played and found out that we actually both live in Maryland and really close to each other. Katie was actually about to be a freshman at the high school that Nicole and I currently went to, and would be in the same grade as Caden.

Y/n: "So Katie, how long are you staying here?"
K: "my family and I are actually only one night, we are leaving for a cruise tomorrow morning"
N: "OMG!! Us too! That's so crazy" "what ship are you guys going on?"
K: "Really?!!!?? It would be so fun if we were on the same ship! and I'm not quite sure which one it was lol I forgot tbh"
C: "yeah it would be really fun, but there are so many ships that go out of here all the time, so the odds are kinda small, but not too small, because our parents could both have read about the most popular ship and both booked it."

At this point I could tell Caden was doing the thing he always does when he's nervous. He just keeps talking nervously and if was definitely because he liked Katie. She started laughing nervously after he said all of that even though none of it made sense, but she had feelings for him too.

Y/n: "Hey you guys wanna run to the grocery store to get snacks for our cruises tomorrow?"
K: "yeah, I'll have to ask my mom rly quick
N: "okay sounds good, let's all go upstairs to our rooms and dry off and change into sweats and sweatpants and text us what your mom says"
K: "kk let me get your numbers"

We all exchange numbers and I was so hoping to get to see Katie again because she was super funny and super sweet and wanted her to date Caden lol ik it's still early but in the NEAR future lol.

We all went up to our respected rooms and dried off and changed into sweats. The best part about Florida at this time (summer) is that it's such a comfortable temperature at night, so you don't need to bundle up a ton to stay warm. Nicole and I throw on sweatpants and tank top. Then, I got a text from Katie.

*Text*
K: hey y/n my mom said it was cool:)
Y/n: yay ok
K: just one thing tho
Y/n: ya what's up
K: She wants to meet you rly quick, sorry I know it's annoying my mom just doesn't want me walking around town with complete strangers.
Y/n: no I totally get that yeah no prob
K: ok thanks for being understanding lol sometimes she can be overprotective, I did tell her that you and Nicole are a little older anyways so that she felt better about us walking around at night haha
Y/n: ok yeah good thinking:) do u want me to walk over to your room right now and then we can come back to my room to grab Nicole and then get Caden, because Nicole is going to the bathroom and Caden still hasn't come over to our room yet so I assume he's still getting ready
K: Yeah sounds great, we are in room 235
Y/n: kk be there in a min
~end of text~

~Katie's POV~
I heard a knock at the door and so glad to see y/n's face. I really felt like we were becoming good friends and so excited to hang with her the rest of the night.

K: "hey y/n, this is my mom Jill, mom this is  y/n.
y/n: "hi, Mrs. Jill, so nice to meet you and tell you how sweet and funny your daughter is."
jill: "aww y/n that is so kind of you to say

I could hear my brother Brennan and his best friend Simon in the room laughing and screaming so loud I yelled at them to shush.

~your POV~
Katie yelled at someone in their room but I wasn't quite sure who it was.

Y/n: "who is that you just yelled at haha"
k: "just my brother and his best friend, it doesn't matter haha they are irrelevant"
y/n: "ok haha let's go"

I shouted back to Jill to say that it was nice to meet her and say thank you for letting Katie come hang with us for a little.

Katie and I walked back to my room and grabbed Nicole and walked over to mom and dad's room to grab Caden.

As we walked, it was probably about a 5-10 minute walk from our hotel to Publix (grocery store). We all walked and talked about random stuff and we were bonding so well together. There was a moment that I just stepped back for a second and really thought about my situation and just smiled because in that moment I was just so happy being with people I love and having a blast talking about great gossip.

We grabbed a ton of snacks and walked back to the hotel and went back to sit by the pool and ate some, but saved most for tomorrow. We started to then get a little sad because Katie got a text from her mom saying that she need to come back to the room and we all hugged, even though we knew that this definitely wouldn't be the end of our friendship. We said our goodbyes and promised to text and snap.

We all went back to our rooms and knocked out like a light because we were exhausted and so excited for tomorrow.
