"Jordan,"Jade shouted up her brother who loved to take his time doing whatever he had to do,"we're gonna be late,AGAIN,"she emphasised the again because they had been late to school the previous day. "I'm here stop shouting like you're on mars,Jesus Jade,"he smiled not showing any sign of apology in his statement.
"Arsehole,"she said under her breath hoping he heard her anyway.
She rushed into the car waiting for Jordan to start the car but as always he took his dear time to do anything. They got to school just ten minutes before the bell for first period could go. "See sis,we ain't late,"he kissed her on the forehead that knowing smile stuck on his face,walking away to his locker.
She grabbed her books and walked towards her English class. "I just saw Jordan,"her best friend had a tendency of creeping up on her when she got to school late,"Jesus,Zo you're gonna kill me one day,"she jumped.
"I look forward to it darling,"Zowie smiled placing her hand around Jade's neck.
They walked together to their first class but that was also the first time that Jade had to miss class for a week. Mr.Wonderland as they called him walked into class his signature look on his face. Head held high,his nose open to take in all possible oxygen and his teeth almost never leaving the air or his lips meeting for that matter.
"Good morning class," he greeted and the reply was almost an echo of what he had just said. "Today,you're all going to write poems,some will be presented at the literature seminar next week,some of you should write short stories to be acted out,no bad things,"everyone burst out laughing except for Jade who was busy whispering something to Zowie. The laughter died down but Mr.Aven as he was actually called,kept silent his eyes burning a hole through Jades eyes who stared back her heart jumping to her right.
"Miss Bennett,please come with me," her heart started to pound in her chest as she stood up to follow her teacher out the door,"You know,"he started and she knew she was in for a lecture,"you are not allowed to talk in class,you do it a lot and now I'm tired of it,you are a good girl so I let you off,"they crossed the field and she knew where they were heading.
Mr.Aven led her down a hall and stopped in front of one door swinging it open and beckoning her to get in. She walked through the door and froze at the front of the class. About ten pairs of eyes stared back at her all silent and looking almost frozen to their spots as well. "Class,this is your new teacher of English for the next one week," wonderland said standing besides her smiling like he had just completed one thing on his bucket list.,"enjoy,"he walked out leaving her standing in front of a class of boys and girls her age,faces she had never seen before.
What the hell do I do now!she asked herself her heart almost beating as fast as the lightning she wished could strike her at that moment.
"What happened to you!"a voice asked dragging her from her thoughts of running out so fast and far even Wonderland couldn't find her,"Uhmm...I was talking so wonderland thought this is a great punishment,"she managed to say as everyone burst out laughing at how stupid the punishment and offence were connected.
"Ok,so he called you out because you were talking and.."everyone was now talking to her. Jade thought it was crazy but cool,they talked through the lesson and by the end of it they had homework and she had some new friends.
"So how was teaching a group of stubborn unruly age mates like bess!" Zowie asked walking towards an exhausted Jade,looking amused at how tired her best friend looked.
"Missy,"a voice called from behind before she could snap at her best friend,she turned around to see a familiar face.
"You left this inside,don't leave your diary around alright,"he winked at Zowie and walked away.
"Omg what's his name? Is he in your class? How are you not flipping he is hot,"
"Zo,calm,he's called Liam and no am not flipping,"She shook her head and walked to the parking lot looking for her twin brother.
Jordan saw Jade approaching and burst out laughing as though his life depended on it,he fell to the ground and lifted his legs up in the air kicking at it and holding his stomach from the pain of laughing too much. Jade stood there staring at her brother heat building up in her gut and she wanted to kick his damn arse.
"Finally,"she said when he stood up and started to dust himself off,the laughter having died and drained all his energy.
"The section,really. For talking in class,"Jade and Zowie rolled their eyes at his insinuation, and he continued,"I should go give wonderland a piss of my mind," he said laughing a little this this time.
"Why don't you ask somebody for one before you start wanting to give away some hmm,"Jade replied irritated at how much of a jerk her twin was.
