"Okay,that's it,"Jade said standing up to hand back the papers she had collected earlier,"you can all have your papers back,and we can say bye to each other,"she smiled at the thought of finally being out of that place,it had been a week but felt like years to her. Although they were very good years,making new friends and not taking her own classes,getting notes from Zowie and completing homework. Also getting to understand wonderland better,being hit on and a lot of other things that had almost changed her life in just one week.
"Come on Missy, that's it,a week and you're gone,"Roy said as she handed him his poem. She sighed heavily not wanting to reply."So how'd we do?" Liam asked before she could get to him,"Great!"she replied and smiled at him for asking such a stupid question,at least she thought.
"Oh!good,now your teaching career comes to an end Missy,"Mr.Aven said walking into the class,standing at the front watching Jade give out the papers. She walked out exhausted and happy at the same time,she was sad she would miss her new friends and teaching but at least she didn't have to sit around all day doing nothing.
Her heartbeat was back to normal when she woke up the next morning,weekends were the saviour of life in her life and she looked forward to each and everyone of them each day that went by. She took a shower, got dressed and went downstairs,kissed her mother good morning and her young siblings sat at the table filling their cheeks full with pancakes.
She grabbed a cup of milk and pancakes and found her way around the table. "Good morning,"Jordan said walking to where she was,he kissed her forehead like he did every morning, their mother got the cheek,the little brother and sister,Junior and Julia,their hair,Jake their big brother got a hug and Dad had a secret handshake that was not so secret because everyone in the family knew it,but Jade his twin got her forehead kissed every morning. Sometimes Jordan's life seemed like a TV show to everyone but they got used to it.
"Bonjour familia,"Jake announced seeming happier than usual. "You know bonjour is French and Familia is Spanish right"Jordan said sounding smart and proud of himself.
"I'm English dude,leave me the fuck alone,"he smiled at his young brother
"People no using the fuck word around the kids,"
"Mum,"Jade called trying to control her laughter,"it's the "f" word not fuck word,you either say f word or fuck,"
Jake and Jordan burst out laughing at what nobody really knew. "Just don't use the fuck word anyway,okay,"she repeated and Jade could not hold it anymore,she joined her bothers in their monstrous adventure of laughter.
"Good morning fam,"their father called out walking into the bursting room wondering what was going on,"Dad,tell mum nobody says fuck word,its either fuck or the f word"Jake called out.
Ben walked towards his wife placing his hands around her waist and kissing her slightly,
"They say the fuck word around the kids,"she hurried to defend herself before her husband could say anything,
"Its either the f word or fuck,honey,there's no such thing as the fuck word,"he said pouring a cup of coffee for himself and taking a sip of it in an attempt to cover up his building crack up.
"I've got to go,"Jade grabbed another pancake and walked out eating it,"Honey we have the charity at noon,don't forget okay,"Ben called out to his daughter, "Yes dad I'll be here by then," she walked down the street towards craps, a restaurant she had grown to love because of her best friend.
She walked in and saw Zowie in one of the booths waving at her. "Why did you call me this early in the morning?"Jade asked almost angry about it
"To hang out,and I don't see why you're complaining it's ten in the morning,"
"Too early,plus I have this charity thing at noon,"they stayed there,had coffee and talked about summer camp,the teenage camp Jade had never had morale to go to.
"You've got to come this summer Jade I can't be there without you this time,"Zowie pleaded
"Fine fine,I'll come but...."the beeping of her phone cut her off before she could complete her statement,"Ray wants to meet,outside here,"
"Go, I'll be right here when you come back. I might even run into Liam,"she rolled her eyes at her best friend and walked out.
He stood there waiting, his hands tucked into his pockets and his eyes not leaving the ground at all."Ray,"she called and his turned to face her his face dull and lost.
"Are you okay,"she asked noticing the look on his face,
"No,I uhmm....I like someone else. So I can't do this,I don't even understand my feelings anymore I'm sorry Jade,I....."
"Go for it if you like her,just don't screw it up,"she cut him off. A thousand pieces of her heart shuttered,a lump formed in her throat but she told herself not to think about crying. At least not in front of him. She stood up and walked back inside towards her best friend who seemed to have company.
"Bess,I actually ran into Liam,"Jade fell into the seat next to Liam her face distant and her mind definitely not where her body was,"What is it,"Zowie asked her concern growing as she watched her best friend's eyes start to tear,"He broke up with me,oh!well,spilt milk right. Hey Liam,"she said confidence starting to creep its way into her tone. Liam watched her for a while before replying.
Time went by as they talked,Jade trying to collect her thoughts,Zowie trying not to get too worried about her best friend while Liam tried so hard not to feel left out. They laughed together and were pulled out of their reveries by Jade's noon alarm.
"Got to run,see yuh,"she peaked her best friend and stood up watching Liam.
She rushed out just in time to find the picture,every most of thing was done already,"Where have you been,"Jordan asked trying to hide the smirk on his face,
"Not using a car,"
"Stop whining and pose for the picture both of you.
Those aren't your finest smiles,"the guy behind the camera said,"I'm gonna tell a joke to make you smile. Do you guys mind vulgar words,"he asked staring mostly at Jane and Ben
"Not at all,"Jade started a smile creeping on her face,"in fact we use the fuck word a lot,"they all burst out laughing and barely noticed the picture being taken.
