Hey! I know its two days early but i'm actually going to be out this weekend and won't be able to update this Saturday. So I hope you will forgive me with an early update ;)

Enjoy the story!

I take a deep sigh to regain my breath, opening my eyes as they scan over the room. My house was small, it wasn't anything too elegant but it was all I needed at this moment. Many wouldn't be but I was actually quite fond of this little place I called home. However, I would admit that I was used to seeing a certain someone among it. He would return when he was able, that I didn't doubt. a certain glossiness covered my eyes at the memories, causing me to smile slightly.

My fingertips found their way to his collar, straightening it close to his neck to keep him warm. I could feel his eyes hard pressed on me but I welcomed any distraction not to look him in the eyes. My fingertips moved down his chest straightening out any wrinkle in the fabric. "Cirilla." His tone vibrated through his chest as he continued to try discussing this with me. Not responding to his tone I continue smoothing the fabric. He analyzed me for a few moments before a deep sigh was heard. "Ciri...." I stop feeling his hand rest over mine on his chest. His tone was softer this time, not as stern as it usually comes off as.

"You know I don't agree with this..." I speak finally answering him. There is a pause in conversation before he speaks.

"I've already explained why." I couldn't help but bite my lip in annoyance as I stare at his chest. Just leave it alone would you? His hand moved from mine on his chest to around my waist, pulling me close to him. His next move went underneath my chin, easily guiding my face to look into his. I did not dare look, averting my eyes. Once I gazed into them I knew it was hopeless. I would fall head over hells for him just as I always did, and he would win the conversation. But of course I could never stay away for too long. I found his icy blue eyes staring deep into mine, the eyes that could charm me every time I opened my eyes, even before his lips started moving.

"Theres been reports of attacks in the surrounding villages. Depending on how severe I may have to intervene." I roll my eyes at this, already feeling my resolve start to crumble. So I speak harshly to stay on guard. "That doesn't matter to me." A smirk makes its way across his lips.

"Im surprised you of all people would say that my dear Cirilla."

"And I cant believe you of all people would care about the deaths of humans." He grins this time at my quip, his inhuman teeth starting to show. By first look you would never guess he wasn't human. His fangs were sharper then most humans but with his face alone you would never guess.

"Only when it's the town next to ours." I wasn't aware they were that close. "And you know I don't particularly take well to unwelcome guests interfering in my life. My house or otherwise." He wouldn't come outright and say it, but I could see where the concern was coming from. He shouldn't have to explain the obvious to me.

"I especially don't need the church getting involved, coming to my damn house for a cleansing." I could hear a growl of anger reverberate through his teeth, the smile fading as quickly as it came. One of his few pet peeves, that he made well known. Anytime any mention of the church came up he was always quick not to listen, calling their work 'Rubbish' and 'Humans using their own self interests on others.' Couldn't blame him.

"When will you be back?" I ask bringing him back to the topic at hand. No answer, only grim silence. He could tell I was about to pull away from him because his grip tightened around my waist keeping me close. "I'll be back before you know it. Stay safe in the meantime." His eyes look over my face for any sign of displeasure. "That means no venturing into the woods for herbs. I don't care how low your supply gets." My face apparently showed my annoyance by his demand because I could see it in his face.

"Alright fine, fine. I will stay at home." "Then we're in agreement." I was tempted to roll my eyes until I felt a gentle kiss on my forehead. I couldn't but lean into him as my eyes unconsciously closed and his warmth radiated through me. His natural scent was one I had always enjoyed, but it didn't last as he pulled away all too soon, instead replacing his lips with his forehead as he looked into my eyes. I felt my heart skip a beat as his eyes stared into mine. "I will be back before you notice."

As I remember his last words from that night I feel an emptiness in my stomach. He had been gone a few weeks. But I couldn't help but question what was keeping him. Surely the nearby villages he was so concerned about weren't that far away. But I knew he was never one to lie. Just thinking of him made me feel his warmth radiating from where he kissed my forehead, causing me to smile as my eyes scan over the now empty room. I would be here, waiting.

I stop when there is a sudden knock on my door, making me pause as I stared at it intently. I thought my ears heard wrong when another knock accompanied it.

"Raegon...?"
