I sit at the dinner table, which was now lop sided from the inccident. I lay my head in my hand, using the other to slowly move my food around.
The silence was nice but weird. I want to pretend as if yesterday hadn't happened. It is easy to say but how do you pretend that something like that doesn't happen? I cough, hinting as if I were to start a conversation.
"So... Is everyone okay? About yesterday I mean." Everyone mumbles and rambles on about their feelings about it all. Well, that is everyone except Anne.
"Don't act like you care. The only reason you acted like you did yesterday is because you wanted attention. You may think you're special but you aren't." I stand up, hands on the table. I lean over, a scowl present.
"If it weren't for me, you guys would've panicked and probably killed her. You didn't do ANYTHING! Don't act so innocent. You're a bitch and everyone knows it." She starts to scream.
"YOU KNOW WHAT?!?! I'M WONDERING WHERE THAT HERO IN YOU WENT WHEN YOUR PARENTS LEFT YOU HERE! WHY DIDN'T THEY KEEP YOU?!?! CAUSE YOU'RE A DUMBASS CHILD! A DISGRACE! A LOSER! A DISAPPOINTMENT! A. WASTE. OF. AIR. AND. SPACE."
That's when she crossed the line. She had no right to talk to me like that.
"YOU KNOW WHAT?!?! YOU ARE A SLUT WHO NEEDS 20 POUNDS OF MAKE UP TO LOOK THE SLIGHTEST BIT DECENT!"
"Well you wouldn't look decent even with all the make up in the world."
Everyone looked at her with mouths open. Tears fill my eyes and my throat closes up. And so I finally say this.
"You're parents should use a better condom next time."
She went wide eyed. I stomp upstairs and lock the door. I open my suitcase and throw as much as I can in there. Max looked up and saw me packing. "Where are we going?" "I don't know yet. I just need to get away from here."
I don't know why Anne went off like that. It was out of no where. Whatever.
I some how manage to fit all of my stuff in there. I sit on the top of it and close it up. Charolette was probably back in the office doing paperwork by now. Everyone else was either in their rooms or still downstairs. But knowing them, they would be back up here as soon as they could.
I motion for Max and make my way down the steps. I look around and see no one. I rotate the doorknob and just as I'm about to leave I hear someone calling me.
"Ellie? Where are you going?"
I cringe at the soft frail voice and turn around to see her with a tear rolling down her porcelain skin. It was Becca. I felt so guilty to leave her behind, but when I leave she will fit in. She is beautiful and smart. She won't have me to take care of.
I set my bag down and run over to her. Our embrace was long and quiet, communicating only with small sobs.
After forever, I let go and kissed her cheek. She just stood there eyes closed with clear streaks all over her face.
"See ya later, alligator." She wipes away her tears with the back of her hand. "Catch ya in a while, crocodile." I allow a single grin to cross my face and I wave. I then walk, trudging out the large oak door as I left the place where it all started.
A/N Hey! I hope you're enjoying this! I really am! I know it may be slow now but there will be some action next chapter! Well see you later alligator ;)
