I turn around and scream, backing up against the table, away from the apparition.
"No!" I scream. "You're not!"
"Katie," Jay says. "Calm down, I'll explain everything."
"You're DEAD!" I scream louder. "You died, I watched you die!" I scream until I'm crying. "You're dead!"
"No, I'm not," he says, reaching a hand towards me. "You can touch me, see?"
"I will NOT!" I scream at him, retracting from him.
"Oh, for crying out loud, child," he sighs in frustration. He grabs onto my hand. "See?"
"Oh, my-" I begin.
"Jay?" Cecilia says quietly. "Seriously?"
"Yeah, it's me," he smiles at her. She grins and runs into his arms. I stare, extremely confused.
"What is going on?" I shiver. He's not dead.
"Maybe we should get some others to help explain..." Jay trails off.
"Is this a joke?" I ask.
"Not exactly," Jay says.
"So, there are other people in on this?" I ask.
"Yes," Jay says sheepishly.
"What is happening?" Cecilia asks, still wrapped in Jay's arms.
"Maybe I should call Whitley," Jay says. "To help explain."
"Or maybe you should just hurry up and tell me why you faked your own death," I tell him.
"I didn't, that's the thing," Jay says. "I did die, but I was revived."
"Then how come no one was told?" I ask.
"Well... some people were told," Jay tells me.
"Like who?" I ask. "And why wasn't I told?"
