I stare at my phone in shock. Who keeps on texting me? I will find out who the hell is doing this and thinks its 'funny'. Whatever, it's probably just some creep. I hold my head up and, with a huff, I run out of the school. On my way out I see a flyer about the school dance, it's themed 'A Night Under the Stars'.

"Get up, Avery! God you're lazy!" I hear a distant scream in my ear. Slowly I awaken and my eyes blink open. I look around at my room and notice Claire sitting on the bottom of my bed. "What's the time?" I ask, groaning at the foul taste of morning breath in my mouth. "It's lunchtime, Ava," Claire sighs, exasperated, though I could tell she. Wasn't that annoyed since she said my nickname 'Ava'. I throw a pillow at her and snuggle deeper into the cozy blanket,"No it's not," I grumble, never I wanting to leave the comfiness of my bed.
"C'mon! I wanna take you out!" She yells, now getting more annoyed. "3," she warns, putting up three fingers. "2," putting down one finger and grabbing hold of the covers with her other hand. "Oh no," I grumble, preparing myself. "1," she screams, pulling the sheets off to expose my cold body. "I win! Let's go!"she jumps off the bed, headed to my dresser.
"Now, onto the real issue here. what to wear!"

I sip my chocolate frappe wiping the cream off my nose. "So have you heard about Luke's party? Apparently, it's gonna be the party of the year! You're gonna be there, right?" She says, glancing up at my with her pleading little puppy eyes. I know I can't say no. "I really don't feel like it right now, to be honest," I sigh, but I can see her expression fall. "Fine, I'll go. But only for an hour, and you're driving,"
"Yay! We need to go dress shopping! But, right now I need to go. I'm going on this family day to meet my sisters new boyfriend. Ugh, kill me now," Claire says, making a gesture with her hands of shooting herself in the temple. "Wait, Khloe has a boyfriend?" I exclaim, dropping my bagel. Khloe is Claire's geeky little sister.
"Yeah. I've really gotta go, but we'll talk later?" She says getting up, and grabbing her purse. "Sure," I reply but she's already out of sight. I stand up and look around for something to do. In front of a dress shop I see Blaze shopping for a dress. She's surrounded by her 'group' of followers. I take a deep breath and stride across the street to the fancy boutique.
"Look who's here!" Ariel exclaims in her annoying girly squeal. "I'm not here to talk, where's Luke?" I say, putting my hands on my hips. "OMG, it spoke!" she yells across the store, her entourage giggling. But then I notice someone else behind Ariel. "That's no way to speak to someone, sweetheart," A husky voice whispers. The doctor from the hospital, Hunter Park, puts his hands around her waist and I gasp for air.
"How are you, Miss Winter?" he says, his eyebrows frowning in concern. I stand there, staring at the scene in front of me with a gasp stuck in my throat. "You two know each other?" I whisper in disbelief.
"We both loved Blaze, you remember her, right?" Ariel sniggers. How could I forget about Blaze? She basically ruined my life. Well, actually, she did ruin my life. And all because she wanted to have my boyfriend, Luke, who, I guess, is my ex now. Something catches my attention, forcibly pulling me out of my reverie.
I can see Ariel, Ariels clique and Hunter looking at something at the End of the room in shock. I follow their gazes to the back wall where a TV sits on the wall. On the TV there's a news reporter, but that's not what has captured my attention. in the background was a hoard of policemen, all bending over something that looks suspiciously like a body. And from under the black sheet I see a very familiar lock of curly, raven black hair.
'I must be hallucinating, that can't be Blaze!' I think to myself. And, as if to confirm my theory, I hear several gasps from Ariel and her group. I tune in to what the reporter is saying, listening intently. "Blaze Park's body has been found. After almost a month of investigation it has been confirmed that she died from a stab wound to the heart. Her family has insisted for her to be buried in the local graveyard, so feel free to come and pay your respects to what was a lively young woman," she says before an ad break.
I feel a scream stuck in my throat but, before I could make a sound, I heard an actual scream to my left. I whip around and find Ariel sobbing into Hunter's leather jacket, the despair evident on her face.
