The little flame. [ Calcifer x Reader ] . Howl's moving castle .

Chapter 1 : An expected arrival

The night was cold as a floating castle in the sky was quiet. Calcifer was sound asleep in his hearth with slight snores fuming out as he slept. Although he was freed from the curse with Howl, he chose to stay with them as they have been considered family already. He sometimes dissipates to his alternate form which is mainly a star. His sleep was suddenly disturbed as he heard the doorknob squeaking, indicating a change of place and soon sophie and howl walked in. "What took you guys so long?" He said as he wiped his eyes. Sophie and howl exchanged looks before breaking into suspicious smiles. "What? Aren't you guys gonna spill?" Calcifer asked sleepily. Sophie walked over to him carefully and sat down on the chair across the hearth before leaning in as if to whisper to him..." we'll be expecting a new member of the family calcifer..are you excited?" She spoke in a soft voice. "Heh? Are you guys adopting another dog? Because that mut from the palace is already a nuisance" calcifer groaned as he spilled flames in disgust. Howl chuckled as he appeared by sophie's side and gently rubbed her belly. "No calcifer, thats not what we meant." Calcifer was really confused for a moment before his eyes widened and realization hit him... the fire demon changed his colors as he seemed to expand his flame before screeching out through the silent night."OH MY GOOD!!!!"

9 months has passed...

Calcifer and markl patiently waited outside the labour room. Suddenly the faint sounds of crying could be heard from the room. As a demon that controlled the very building, he immediately sensed a new presence of life within the walls. It was warm and soft. It filled him with an odd fuzzy feeling as his flame turned pink. Markl glanced over to him and asked what was wrong with him. "W-what?"

Before markl could open his mouth, howl stepped out of the room and ushered them in with a big dad smile. Howl let calcifer float on his palm whilst he brought him inside to see sophie looking exhausted but happy while holding onto a small infant in her arms. "Wow! She's so tiny.." markl remarked while poking her chubby cheeks. It was a girl by the way...duh..
"Hey, let me see her!" Calcifer pouted, wanting to see the new life that radiated a warm presence in the house. Howl hovered calcifer over the small girl and he looked down to it. She suddenly opened her eyes and a small smile made its way to her innocent face. Calcifer just looked at her with wonder when she suddenly swung her small arms towards calcifer, obviously attracted to the bright flame. Sophie pulled away howl's hand away instinctively." Keep away from her, i don't want you to burn her" she said worryingly. Howl just chuckled as he moved calcifer closer to the baby anyway. "It's fine sophie, calcifer can control and cool down his heat to the point you can touch him and it wouldn't hurt at all." Howl told her reassuringly. Calcifer was brought closer to the baby and she soon was touching him lightly. Calcifer had lowered his heat so when she touched him, she could just feel a slight warmth. "Wow..." calcifer said as the girl giggled happily as she played with the now blushing flame. Markl suddenly interrupted "so what are you gonna name her?"

Hey do you guys have any ideas for her name? I wanted something meaningful and have some sort of relation to calcifer (fire, heat, warmth or something)
Anyway i appreciate you reading this first chapter and i hope you keep reading till the end. This story won't have that much conflict and will have a lot of fluff and smooth storyline. Stay don't stray!
