Something Called Hope

Nana's P.O.V.

After that incident with Angela, I lost hope. I didn't have the energy to even move! I insisted that Harith will live with me, since he didn't have a home. Right now, he's looking outside the window and I'm just sulking in the couch.

"Love and hope, for the two greatest inventions....." I mumbled

"What's that?" Harith asked me

"That's Angela's catchphrase... She usually says that" I answered coldly.

"I'm really sorry about that, Nana" he said as she walked towards me.

"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything" I ask glumly. He patted my head and groomed my ears.

"Things will be better, I know so" he comforted me. Wait, isn't Harith a time traveller?

"Harith, can I ask you a favor?" I turn to him.

"Yeah? What is it?" He asked me.

"Take me back in time! I can stop the figure from turning Angela into stone! Heck, I can stop the figure from getting Harley and Miya!" I answered.

Harith's P.O.V.

I looked at Nana with disbelief. I didn't know what to say; sure, I could take her back in time, but, you can't change the past...

"I could take you back in time, but, you can't change the fact that your friend gone..." I tried to make her understand.

"C'mon, please? We'll just stop the figure from getting close to my friends." She whined.

"But..." I mumbled. She looked at me with cute baby eyes. Ugh, something that I can't refuse...

"If you do stop the figure from turning both Harley and Miya, we'd never meet... Is that okay with you?" I asked glumly

She gasped. "Oh, right...." She started to walk slowly away from me. "You know, what? Forget what I just said..." She walked away, went to her room and shut the door.

"I'm sorry, Nana..." I mumbled.

I stood up and went outside. I looked up to the moon. Its full moon today, and its beautiful. I walked into the forest, until I reached a plain grassland. Perfect for stargazing. I lay down and looked at the stars.

What if meeting Nana made things even worse for her? What if I was only a bother to her? I sighed and closed my eyes for a bit.

Nana's P.O.V.

I stared at the moon from my window. Its full moon, beautiful. I sighed. I just wanted to stop this madness. Harley, Miya, and Angela.... Why them? It just had to be them.... Then there's Harith, he saved me from the mysterious figure.

What if I was just a bother to him? I keep crying and whining. I must be annoying...

Boom!

A blue explosion disturbed my deep thinking. From the looks of it, it looks like Harith's magic. Is he okay? I better go check. I ran out of the house to find him.

Harrith's P.O.V

The mysterious figure disrupted my nap. I almost touched me, which would lead me to becoming stone. I fired a blue fire ball to make the figure fall. The figure fell down and I tied both his hands and feet with my magic.

"Who are you? My magic will l contain you, if you move, it will only get tighter." I threatened the figure.

I walked up to the figure and removed his hood. I gasped.

"You! You're the guy that-" I was interrupted by him touching my arm. Shoot! He touched me. I looked at my arm and back at the figure. The figure escaped, great... I turned towards my arm, Argh! The black material is slowly covering me up.

Okay, calm down, focus. You can do this. I used my magic to stop the black material from containing me whole. It didn't get rid of it, but, at least it stopped containing me.

"Harith! What happened?!" I heard a familiar voice call me. It was Nana, great, I hid my arm with my cloak and smiled at Nana.

"What do you mean? Nothing happened" I lied.

"But I saw an explosion coming from here, are you sure nothing happened?" She tilted her head showing confusion.

"Yeah, I was just playing with my magic. You know, training" I folded my arms, so she wouldn't notice the black material.

She sighed with relief. "Thank the gods, I thought some serious happened here"

"I see that you ran all the way here." I said with concern.

"Yeah, you could say that" she said with a smile.

"Alright, I'll take you back in time. But only to stop the figure from getting Angela. Not Harley and Miya." I told her but I looked to the ground instead of her.

"No, I don't want to go back anymore" she said as she hugged me "I'm fine already of what I have now"

I was speechless. I didn't expect Nana to say that she didn't want to stop the figure from getting to her friends. Her hug around me tightens. Of course, I hugged back. Then we walked back home.

"Okay, good night Nana" I bid her good night. As I stood in front of the door to my room.

"Good Night" she bid me good night as she entered her room and shut the door.

I lay down at the bed at looked at my arm. The black material is slowly spreading. I could only contain it for a short while. What do I do? Its gonna contain me whole sooner or later.

I sighed with frustration. I didn't want to worry Nana. Nah, I'm sure it will disappear in no time. Tomorrow, me and Nana decided to visit more of her friends and ask for help. Then I closed my eyes to rest.

Hi guys! Sadly, I'm here to tell you that I might not be able to update any of my stories this week (Feb. 11- Feb. 15) because its our school's exam. So I'll be busy hitting the books!
