I found a snail

By the crick

I took it and held it tight

Up the crick

I and it

On a lovely daytime hike

But in my hands

The shell had broke

If only I knew it could be so frail

So I dropped it

in the crick and said

Let the current take the snail

So let this be

A lesson to you

'Bout friends you hold so dear

Let them go

For you might break

Their shells if you hold them too near

Yes people too

Just like the snail

Can be rather frail

I say to you

Just let them go

Let the current take the snail
