Quote #4

"Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?"

I was now in my PJ's. Slouching on the couch with the television remote control in my hands. I changed from channel to channel without even knowing what I want, while my mind was occupied with thoughts about what happened today.

Sophie and Aiden were real good people. They were really nice to me, I wasn't afraid to talk to them though, which was weird. Maybe I felt guilt after the encounter Aiden and I had? I don't know, but if I was in his shoes I wouldn't even try to speak to me again. Sophie, was really nice too, I always thought that she's a sweet girl, but yet nothing made me want to get close to her.

I frowned, when I remembered what Hannah did and the chuckle of the boys I heard after what she did to me. I mean why would she do such a thing to me? I never hurt her in any way, I always try my best to stay away from anything that might cause me trouble. Even though, she shouldn't have treated me this way, especially that I had no intentions to disturb any of them.

She is a bitch.

My mind paused its thoughts when I heard the door bell. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion of who could it be. No one ever visited me except the mailman that comes every month with my money. I sighed as I stood up to open my front door to see who was visiting me, at this time.

I opened the front door with Scar on my side to meet with two very familiar people. It was Sophie and Aiden. Sophie had her balck hair in a high pony tale and makeup free skin. She wore a purple hoodie and grey sweat pants with white sneakers, she looked gorgeous, honestly. Then, Aiden had that cheeky smile on his face, that made me wonder why he had that smile, but I was caught by how good he looked wearing a grey hoodie and black sweats, with white converse too, similar to the ones Sophie wore.

I looked at them confused. They were holding two bags filled with chips and snacks. They didn't wait for me to usher them in, they already entered with Scar following them as I watched them walk and sit on my couch. I closed the door behind me, with the same confused look on my face I went towards the two humans that were now emptying the bags filled with snacks on the table in front of them.

"Alva, why are you still standing come sit with us" Sophie said as she opened a bag of Cheetos "Its your house after all"

I stayed silent. Walked to the chair in front of them and sat down. I didn't know why they were here and I didn't know what to say, but I didn't mind them being here. I wasn't afraid of them. I looked at Aiden who was already watching a football game on my TV. I laughed as I saw Sophie hitting him with remote control on his head.

"We didn't come here to watch a football game" She said teasing him

"Whatever" Aiden spoke, glaring at her.

Aiden looked at me with the same cheeky smile. I felt my face turn red from his look. I am the kind of person that whenever feels shy or the center of attention to get mad.

"Why are you smiling at me like that? Stop it" I spoke glaring.

His cheeky smile turned into a boost of laughter. I frowned at his unexplained laughter. Why is he laughing? Is there something on my face?

"Why are you laughing?" I asked, feeling my face burning from embarrassment.

When I looked at Sophie to help me with such a situation, I found her so concentrated on Friends. She likes Friends just like me, that caused me to smile but inside of me. I couldn't smile since there was a green eyed boy laughing at me.

"Wiieeh" He tried to speak, but laughed even more "Winnie The Pooh?" He finally spoke following it another laugh.

My frowned face turned into a proud smile. He was laughing at my slippers, I wasn't ashamed of loving Winnie he was my childhood best friend. I am totally loyal to him, that's why I am not ashamed of loving him.

"So? I love him" I said proudly.

"You love him?" That made him laugh even more.

"Yeah, I do" I said, teasing him and not caring anymore of his laughing spree.

Now, Sophie was caught my his laughing and looked at my slippers causing her to have the same cheeky smile.

"Stop it Aiden" She said still smiling "She loooves Winniiiiiee" she teased.

They both laughed causing me to laugh with them, I don't know why, but I was very comfortable with them.

"stop it both of you" I said, still laughing "what made you come here?" I asked curious.

Their laughter calmed down but a smile was still plastered on their face. They took their breath from laughing as Aiden spoke.

"We came here for two reasons actually"

"Aha" Sophie added in agreement.

I furrowed my eye brows, indicating for them to continue speaking.

"Well, remember the scrambled paper that you didn't bother reading?" Sophie stated lifting her eyebrows.

"It was from me" She added.

Crap.

I was disrespectful to the two people who stood by me. I think they came here for answers. I don't know what to tell them. I know my behavior was weird and can't be explained, but if I tell them the truth they might think that I am a weirdo, crazy or even a creep.

I didn't answer Sophie, I stayed quiet but that didn't stop her from talking.

"And the other day Aiden tried to talk to you, but he got a very rude response"

"Why though?" Aiden asked.

What should I say? I never made a plan for such a day. I always thought that I will never talk to any humans, therefore I won't need to tell them anything about my thoughts or beliefs. I don't mind sharing my beliefs with them, though. However, what if I lost the first humans who I was comfortable with? I wasn't ready to tell anyone anything. I know that such a day would come, but I always chose to ignore it.

I opened my mouth to speak but I closed it back again when I couldn't utter any word out. I sighed and just moved my head indicating that I can't speak. I hated myself for that, I was afraid to speak.

"Hey Alva?" I rose my head towards Aiden "Its okay, you can tell us"

"No, I am sorry" I finally spoke.

Sophie sighed before she said "Alva, why are you afraid to speak us?"

I bowed my head down "I am sorry" was all I said.

They both had confused looks on their faces. I wish I could tell them, everything I've lived. I wasn't ready and there's something inside me that kept saying, don't trust them. I never trusted anyone, actually. It was hard for me to trust them.

"Can we be friends?" I heard Aiden say softly, while Sophie nodded in agreement.
