Chapter TWO
"Face Off."
It was a sunny monday at the school of our main characters, mainly Jacob and Ynna. It has been weeks since that unnerving phone call from Ynna but feels like months to her because she kept waiting for Jacob's text just like what Jacob told her, but he don't plan on texting her, not a single one. He's taken, he already has a girlfriend, and that would be inappropriate for her side. Moving forward for the day. Ynna and Jacob both proceeded for their day by going into their classes. What they didn't know is that fates have another plan for them, and it isn't just a simple one.
"John Jacob DR. Dela Mercede." Jacob's teacher said in a stern voice. why you might ask? Because his dozing off again in his class and his teacher caught him.
"Ye--Yes?!" Jacob asked in a somewhat surprised tone and his classmates errupted in a fits of laughter.
"Sleeping again I see Mr. Dela Mercede. A guess excercise is need. A little walk won't hurt you, right?" his teacher, Ms. Cruz, told him.
"Of course it won't ma'am." Jacob answered politely to avoid arguments with his teacher. But really in his mind: Uggggh! She really picks on me.
"Off you go then. Bring these to Mrs. Maricar's class, give it her class president. I don't quite remember her name though. But nonetheless, here it is. And no side trips!" Ms. Cruz told him and handed a bundle of papers, school papers to be exact, and ushered him to go.
On the other side. Ynna is furiously walking out of her room, she can't take the noise inside her room. She kept walking and walking not knowing where she is going, until she bumped into something, or someone, rather. She became aware that she bumped into someone when she caught a sniff of it's smell. As the reaction of their collision, she stumbled backwards but Ynna was caught by a hand, one on her waist, the other on her hands.
"Hey, are you alright?" Jacob asked her. It was Jacob, it was no coincidence, Jacob was on his way to Ynna's room, for she was Mrs. Maricar's class president.
"Uhm--yes." Ynna muttered when she realized it was Jacob who she bumped into. He smell so manly yet young. Ynna thought to herself, before releasing herself out of his grasp. This girl sound's oddly familiar. She's kinda' pretty though. Jacob thought to himself as she let the girl out of his grasp.
"You sound so familiar? Have we met before?" Jacob asked the girl. who was blushing with his gaze. He knows that his handsome but he don't go show it all the time. Only at certain times.
"Well not met, but rather talked. At the phone. Remember?" Ynna told him carefully. She was blushing, and fidgeting under his gaze.
"Oh. You're that girl. You're Ynna right? Well, would you mind telling me where does Mrs. Maricar's room is?" Jacob asked her when he remembered who this girl was. He wasn't expecting for her to agree but he won't mind now, since she just nod and started walking where he was going to.
They were just silent, an awkward silence is hugging both of them. The usual flirtratious tone of Jacob was gone and was replaced by an oddly silent one. Back at Ynna who is still thinking about what happened earlier.
"Uhm. Are we ther yet?" Jacob asked Ynna after what seems like 5 minutes of walking. Finally he talked. Ynna thought to herself.
"We're here actually, this door is Mrs. Maricar's advisory room. So then, I'll leave you here." Ynna said after opening the door to let Jacob inside. But before she can even step back from it, Juan Carlo de Dios burst out from the door, accidentally bumping to Ynna, knocking her down, but letting Jacob catch her AGAIN. She was flushing, and his heart was thumphing fastly and loudly that he wonder if she could hear it. Jacob set Ynna back to her standing position and glared at JC.
"Watch it man." Jacob blurted out with out even thinking, but who knows, he's a gentleman after all. JC ignored her and proceeded on saying sorry to Ynna.
"I'm so sorry pres. I didn't mean it. So hang out with me later?" JC said, with a wink at his last question. Juan Carlo de Dios liked Ynna, they were an item before but Ynna called it off and JC decided he needed her back and he need to prove that his much more serious this time.
"JC, just get lost, alright?" Ynna asked and JC obeyed like a love sick puppy. No one know if she's still in love with him, but at some point she still is despite the fact that this man beside her is making her nervous and flushed.
"You're the president? I mean I'm looking for Mrs. Maricar's class president and it's you." Jacob said with a smile. Finally I won't have to look that far. Jacob thought to himself.
"So here it is what Ms. Cruz want to give to you. Bye!" Jacob told her before handing her some paperworks. A lot of paperworks. Ynna just nod and watched as Jacob's figure retreated out of her room's corridor.
It was indeed the destiny that made them saw each other. Little by little and pieces by pieces, destined people will finally be together.
