A lovely girl with defined cheekbones, luscious lips, and long black thick lashes with dark smoky eyelids and rosy cheeks stared back at Sam. She shared her same startling golden green eyes and long auburn tresses of curls, unkempt but, somehow all the more acceptable to the image in the mirror. It took the small-town girl a moment to identify that she was the same young woman in the glass, that is until Laura stepped behind her in the reflection and smiled approvingly.

"You see, a little makeup magic and we can all be princesses for a night." The girls shared a momentary look of delight. And then, Sam gave her cousin's reflection a relieved and thankful grin.

Another knock rang at the bathroom door, disturbing the shared moment of bonding . A voice followed the polite knocks quickly identifying the person outside the door. "Laura, the cars outside and they've been waiting for ten minutes now. We really should be on the way..."

As Evan spoke, he found his sentence cut to the quick.  Laura opened the door to reveal herself, fully clothed in her emerald dress and lovely waist line. His jaw dropped as he stared at the woman he called his beau. "Wow." He allowed the words of admiration to slip out as she watched his gawking glance linger then, grinned, parting the way for Sam's own exit.

"Evan Parker, I'd like you to meet my cousin and dear friend, Samantha Turner." Out stepped Sam, slightly wobbly at the first few steps on the high heels. Somehow, she managed not to catch her heel in the carpeted floor or slip and stumble out of the bathroom. it was something that happened nearly every time she tried wearing heels, far more often then she liked to admit. She cracked an embarrassed smile at Evan, as the handsome and tall young man in a grey dress suit stared at her appraising the young girl before him.

Laura laughed, not at all ashamed of her beau's reaction, or in anyway jealous of his gaze. She nudged him teasingly and said, "Well, you could say something sweet, for all that gawking your doing, darling."

Evan swiftly turned, red faced in Laura's direction at his manners before turning back to Sam. he smiled, pulling his hand out to hers to shake and say, "You look absolutely wonderful, Samantha and it's lovely to meet you. Laura's been talking about you non-stop since you called to say you'd be moving to the city."

Sam smiled shyly at Evan, his brown puppy dog eyes were large but, worked on his rather business like handsomeness. Pallored skin, dark brows, and hair and his 6' height put him in the tall and handsome category in Sam's book. His hand shake was gentle and he quickly let go of her, placing a firm and possessive hand over Laura's waist instead at her cousin's release as she spoke, "Please call me Sam. And it's nice to meet you too, Evan. I hope none of what she's told you is bad, its been years since we last saw each other after all."

Evan laughed and shook his head, leaning over to kiss Laura briefly on the cheek before saying, "Oh no worries, Sam. Laura's too sweet to talk bad about anyone. Heart of gold this one." His tone was approving and loving as he spoke of her cousin and Sam grinned. the girl invisined her cousin's beau was evidently a true charmer. He'd have to be to have gotten Laura's attention, Sam remembered her cousin's unique taste in men and she was sure Evan met many (if not all) her elder cousin's wishes for a man. Evan was clearly a catch.

Laura hugged one of his arms and leaned over him, just as affectionately. "Oh, stop. Didn't you say the car was waiting for us?" She asked the last with batted lashes in his direction and he quickly nodded, remembering himself.

"Oh yes, that's right. I'd better go get the others. You two get whatever else you might need and meet back in the living room." Laura nodded, before removing herself from Evan's hold as he disappeared down her hallway into the living room. Laura hooked her arm in Sam's instead, turnign them towards her bedroom as she did so with one swift movement.
