PROLOGUE

"The most recent victim of the notorious serial killer, Agust, Mr. Park was found laying unconscious at the middle of Gangnam street, late night by the patrol officer, Mr. Jong. He had been severely injured and was rushed to the hospital right away. We are still waiting for the police to make an official statement."

The sky was crying since an hour ago. The heavy rain didn't stop to pour and angrily knocking the roof of a small police office in the middle of heavy traffic Gangnam district.

Was it a cry of joy? Or was it the tears of sadness?— to commemorate as the most horrible nightmare that put Seoul city to an endless sleepless night, had finally come to an end.

"Turn off the TV." A deep voice said in his stern tone as he walked inside the working room with an officer on his duty, sitting on the couch alone.

The brunette haired officer turned his head around toward the voice before quickly grabbed the remote and turned the screen off.

"Good night, sir." He stood up and gave the male in his brown leather jacket a salute.

"Where is he?" The deep voice asked.

"Let me escort you to the questioning room." The brunette said as the other man nodded.

"He's still not in his stable state. So I don't think he could answer all of your questions properly yet." The brunette explained as they walked inside the narrow hallway.

"But he can talk, can't he?" The brunette nodded.

"It doesn't matter. I just have a few question anyway." The deep voice added.

"Here we are." The brunette stopped and opened the door for the slightly taller man.

"Thank you, Mr. Jeon." The deep voice said, smiling and showing his two deep dimples.

"I'll be watching on the glasses room. And please, don't be too harsh on him, he's still sick." Mr. Jeon warned in full concern as he excused himself.

The taller man just simply nod before entering the door.

"Mr. Park." He greeted the boy who was sitting silently inside the dimly light room, fiddling with his fingers as his eyes stared at the emptiness.

He was wearing an oversized white sweater still in his hospital pajamas underneath. His left eye was visibly swollen, lips busted. Head and right wrist wrapped with white bandage. And that were just some of more severe injures and fade bruises painted all over his body. A definite proof about what kind of tortures the poor boy had been going through when he went missing for the past few months.

The said boy raised his head a little to meet the taller's eyes. He just bowed his head slightly to greet the older.

The tall man sat in front of the boy who didn't tore his gaze away from him, with an unreadable expression, plastered on his darkening face.

"How are you feeling?" The man asked but the boy just answered by lowering his gaze. Was that even a question? Does he look alright to him?

"Don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you. You're already save now." The man said in a soft tone.

"We already caught Agust. We promise he will never be able to hurt you anymore." The smaller boy widened his eyes, his hands started to tremble as his body grew stiff upon hearing the name. His eyes grew watery, he tried to stop his tears by biting down his lower plump lips.

"It's alright." The man placed his palm on top of the smaller' one. The boy flinched by the sudden contact.

The man retreated his hand and placed it on top of his notebook instead.

"My name is Kim Namjoon, the head chief of this case. I won't take your time too long, Mr. Park, I just have a few question for you. The questions that had been lingered inside my mind even though I already caught him, I keep on wondering why..." the officer said as he leaned his back on the chair.

"Why didn't he kill you, Mr. Park?"
