[Chapter 1: Welcome to the underground!]
Eillia POVYou groaned and stirred, the sunlight shining down on you. You were so..comfortable. You didn't want to get up. Was this heaven?
You didn't want to remember what led you to fall.
Eventually, you realized that you had no idea where you were. Reluctantly, you slowly sat up and rubbed your eyes. So you weren't dead. And surprisingly, your bandages had stayed on your legs. But you could still see bruises underneath them.
You felt pain course through your veins, your body screaming at you not to move. Had you not been used to this type of pain, you'd be straight sobbing.
You had been laying on a bed of golden flowers. Buttercups it looked like. Darkness surrounded you. You could barely see what was in the distance.
Sighing, you slowly stood, ignoring a strange, sharp pain in your chest. You felt like you were going to pass out, feeling nothing but agony at your every move. After a while, you came across a door that had seemed to have been left open. Different stones had been pressed into the floor, and a yellow lever that had been pulled down. Yellow arrows engraved in the white brick wall that pointed towards the lever.
You dismissed it and walked through the door. You flinched and stepped back when you noticed a path of metal spikes blocked your way. Luckily for you, there was a small part of the spikes that were empty. That's when it clicked in your mind. These were puzzles. They seemed to have been solved already.
Being careful not to stab your feet with the spikes, you walked across the safe path, shivering at how cold the metal was against your shoes, despite the room feeling like you're being cooked alive.
After you crossed, there seemed to be no more puzzles or traps. You would know since they weren't that hard to spot. Eventually, after you encountered weird creatures that had a will to kill you, you came across a tree with fallen red petals around the bark of it, yet you didn't see a speck of brown on their soft texture. Ahead of the tree was a small house. You prayed in your head someone was in there. The pain had only gotten worse and you nearly fell over a couple times.
Slowly you walked to the door and hesitantly knocked. You couldn't hold up much longer and collapsed on the ground with a thud, coughing violently, blood dripping from your lips and dripping onto the ground. You attempted to prop yourself up on your elbows.
But just your luck, before you passed out, the door opened and you heard a concerned voice. A female's you believe.
"Oh my goodness! My child, are you alright?!"
