I felt pain, searing hot pain.
I was unable to open my eyes, but my body was otherwise concious. My arms and legs were locked in place as my torso lurched. The pain was everywhere, I felt it all the way to the tip of my toes.
I was prodded with electricity, choking gases, blazing heat. My lungs constricted, heart rate surged. I felt close to death. Close, but it never came.
Each time my nerves burned out, my skin split, or my lungs gave way, they would heal. Each time I felt at the brink of death, I would awaken again, rejuvenated and subjected to more pain. My healing rate increased the more they prodded me. As if the more times I grew close to death, the stronger I got.
A surge of current passed through me, and this time my eyes flew open. I screamed in pain, now fully concious. I was strapped onto a metal table, a glass coffin enclosing me. The room was dark except from the blue electricity filling the coffin. I screamed till even my voice gave way.
I saw my skin turn white, and my chest began to constrict. Up till breaking point, I once again fell close to lifelessness. Blue and black spots filled my vision. With one last surge of current, my heart stopped. Then a second later, my vision cleared. The pain slowly subsided, air rushed into my lungs, the current stopped. I was blanketed in darkness.
My breathing was shallow and uneven as I struggled to get my bearings. I noticed my naked body was covered with patches connected to wires that extended out of the coffin. My skin slowly returned to its colour as my body healed itself, this time faster than it had ever done.
I laid there, in shock, in pain, in fear. How long were they going to keep going? Hours? Days? My tear ducts were too dry to produce tears.
Lying in the coffin, in a room of darkness, waiting to get tortured, gave rise to a form of fear I could not fathom. Knowing I would survive at the end of it, made it even more scarring.
I heard ignition. Heat began filling the coffin, static encompassed the air. It was beginning again. My body trembled vigorously, fully aware of the oncoming danger.
Stop. Please stop.
I begged in my head. I felt the current increase, small sparks were visible. I clenched my fists and shut my eyes.
No more...
My body shook, but in a strange way. I was not shivering in fear, I was trembling as I felt a suffocating feeling in my chest, like something was threatening to escape. The static grew stronger, my hairs stood and my skin began to feel stinging shots of pain.
However the suffocating feeling in ny chest did not cease, instead it grew. The jump of electricity shook the coffin and my piercing scream reveberated in the air.
I felt no pain, instead pulses of energy burst from within me. A loud boom resounded, as I allowed the forces within me to be free. I screamed and screamed, the veins in body glowed blue. The glass coffin began to crack, blinding light illuminated the room.
The last I saw was the coffin shattering and cracks form on the walls and ceilings. My body felt burning hot, but the heat was energising. I lost conciousness in moments, but the remnants of the energy within me continued to wreck havoc.

A faint beeping, accompanied by the soothing feeling of a cold object on my head made me arouse from sleep. My eyes were blurry as I struggled to scan my surroundings.
I was in a room, or more specifically ,as my memory resurfaced, the SOM5 operation theatre. I was atop one of the surgical tables, covered in sheets. My heart began racing, being in the operation theatre was never a good sign.
I turned to see someone sitting beside the table I was on. The alien being, was not dressed in surgical gear. Instead it wore armour, but it looked more lightweight compared to the other guards and beautifully embroidered like the leader's. The alien wore a similar headpiece to the leader. It must have been a person of higher authority. Its features were more feminine, hence I assumed it was a female.
The alien removed the cold object on my forehead, it looked like tranparent crystal cube. The crystal placed on my forehead triggered a sense of deja vu.
I remembered Inya, my friend from the past. She placed a crystal on my head to prevent me from sinking into the abyss of the Akashic, and losing conciousness forever.
The alien eyed me with its large eyes. We stared at eachother for a good whole minute.
"They are coming to dissect you," was the first words it said, with its robotic auto-generated voice.
What a wonderful greeting. I thought to myself. I did not have the energy to respond.
It eyed me again, then spoke," They want to know the source of your powers, or remove them from you, one way or another. They can't kill you, because you are immortal."
"Why are you telling me all this?" I said already feeling sick to my stomach. The alien stared at me yet again. I noticed its eyes soften ever so slightly.
"Because, you don't deserve this," it said.
I was taken aback,"I... Who are you?"I asked. Why was this alien so concerned about me?
Shaking its head, it said,"That isn't important. You may call me Rys. They are coming soon, so I don't have much time. Please listen." I could sense the urgency, hence I paid close attention.
"I need you to persevere, long enough till they initiate the AHM333 startup. No matter what they do to you, do not give in. I will aid as much as possible, but it greatly depends on you sustaining your sanity. I'm sorry, but that is all the aid I can provide you as of now," Rys explained quickly.
"Why are you helping me?" With all that had happened, I could not help but think it was all a dream. Why would an alien help me?
Our heads whipped to the door as we heard footsteps.
"I'm helping you because, not everyone believes in the same virtues," Rys said, and stood up. As if on cue, several aliens entered the room, dressed in green sterile suits and face masks.
They bowed upon seeing Rys,"My lady," they murmurred in robotic voices. She nodded her head and turned to me one last time. Her eyes conveyed no emotion, but I could sense it in her Akashic, she hoped I would make it through. She wished me good luck, through our minds.
Luck? I wondered how far I could push it.
Rys left the room and the surgeons surrounded me. They placed a gas mask over me, and within seconds I was forced to sleep.
What they were about to do to me was horrifying to imagine. However, if whatever Rys said was true, I had to believe there was hope. There was a chance, I just had to persevere.
And remain sane.
