Kusuo Saiki POV

Pain.

That's what goes through my head 0.2 seconds after I wake up, making me hold my head in annoyance. I reach over to the bed stand and pick up the silver ring laying within arms reach. The Moment I touch it, the searing pain from having to hear the thoughts of everyone in a 200-meter radius is gone.

*Sigh* 'Good grief, I wonder what's gotten into everyone for their thoughts to be so obnoxiously loud?'. Its then, that realization strikes me.

'It's the debut for the new episode from the detective tv show, isn't it' I half scold myself in exasperation as I huff out a breath of air, before looking down at the Germanium ring resting on my right Index finger. 'I should probably wear this to school today'. I happened to have slightly enjoyed the previous season of the show, and don't want any of those nuisances on my way back from school spoiling it for me. 'However, I'm not sure if I want to deal with a school full of Nendos for the day'. While I'm pondering whether not having the show spoiled is worth dealing with Nendo A to F for an entire day, I end up spacing out; I get startled by the door opening courtesy of my mom. She takes a curious look at my startled face before chirping in her usual cheery voice "Come on Ku-chan your getting late for school!"

Deciding that I probably should be getting ready, I get out of bed and teleport into the bathroom while getting my clothes and bag ready using Psychokinesis. After I take a shower and teleport back into my room, I see everything I need awaiting my return, floating in the air in front of the door. Once I'm ready,  I float myself downstairs, making sure to make noise so I don't walk into my parents doing something I would rather not see. Normally I would have been able to know their thoughts of their actions due to my Telepathy, but since I'm wearing the Germanium ring today, I'm gonna have to be careful.

As I go downstairs, I see my parents half making out, half saying cheesy lines.

"Ooooh, I love you so much, mama!"

"And I love you more Papa"

I ignore their usual antics, thankful that I don't have to hear them out loud and in my head. I scarf down my breakfast and leave before my dad asks me to teleport him. As I'm leaving, I hear my mom chirp a goodbye, before promptly returning to being lovey-dovey with my dad. I nod in acknowledgement, knowing they probably aren't looking my way, and leave the house cautiously. I try listening for anyone I don't want to have to deal with, and once I don't hear or see anyone I want to avoid, I slide out from the house gate and leave for school.

*Time Skip*

"You need to help us, Master! Michael and I simply can't perform this on our own!"

'Good grief, leave me alone'

"Master, it's my only chance to win back Midori, and I need your help!"

'Probably isn't'

"At least tell us if our act is alright!"

I finally look back at the nuisance pestering me and see the annoying magician Chono. 'It doesn't seem like he's gonna leave me alone. His pestering has already delayed me by a good 10 minutes'. Ending my internal before it even started, I shake my head.

'Doesn't he have someone better than a student heading to school to ask for help?'

After that display of disinterestedness, Chono starts leaving. 'Master's help would've helped me win Midori back. *Sigh* Maybe I don't deserve such a thing anyway'. Upon hearing that thought from his head, I decide to help him slightly so that he doesn't come to bother me the next time he needs help. I send a telepathic message to him so that he is inspired enough to actually perform. "You can do it Kouta! You're the only one stopping yourself from winning back Midori".

'Yeah, that's right! I can do this! I can't expect Master to hold my hand every time I need help, so he's trying to push me forward! I won't fail you Master!'

'That seems to have had the intended effect. Hopefully, he leaves me alone from now.'

Glancing down at my watch, I see that I will be late for school at this rate. I look around for a deserted spot to teleport from. Once I spot one, I use Clairvoyance to see if there's anyone at the school lockers, to make sure I can safely teleport without anyone seeing me appear out of thin air. 'There are people here, but they seem to be leaving'

'Wait, they seem to be more excited than normal. Should I risk removing my ring and checking why?If it's a problem for me, I'd much rather not be surprised'. I stood there for a few seconds, my left hand hovering over the ring.
'The episode hasn't aired yet, so I shouldn't be worried about spoilers yet. But it wouldn't be advisable keeping it off for long. Who knows what nuisances I'll run into that stop me from putting on my ring?  Besides, I already removed it to deal with Chono, so I can afford to remove it again, right?'

As I reached this conclusion, I decided to remove the ring and hear what the students in the locker room are thinking of using Clairvoyance and Telepathy.

'I heard that the new transfer student is a girl! Wonder if she's into my type......'

'*Sigh* Another transfer student. Maybe we should start sending away the current transfer students first, starting with that medium. I hope this girl won't cause me trouble and leaves me alone, but knowing my luck, I wouldn't bet on it.'

I then wait till those annoyances left the locker room, and teleport to school. As soon as I teleport in and start walking toward my locker, I hear a loud *Shriiiiiing*'Good grief, that's the bell. Congrats Chono, you performed a hard trick: getting a Psychic late to class. Even that idiot Nendo hasn't done that yet.'

I hope the chapter was enjoyable! I should have the next chapter out in a couple of days max.
