On the longest night of the year, when darkness reached all corners of Greece and beyond, the gods of Olympus gathered to hear a story.

"And who shall tell the story tonight?" asked Zeus, eager to pass the long night away, "Poseidon, brother, do you have a story to share?"

"Yes, brother, for I think it has been far too long since someone told the story of Calypso and Melina." Many gods and goddesses smiled at his words, for the tale was a familiar favorite, renowned throughout Olympus.

"Then I shall begin," said Poseidon, addressing the many smiles around the hearth.

"Oh muses, bless this tale so we may see, once again, Calypso find love and happiness at long last. So we may journey with lovely Melina and understand her trials and tribulations in all that she suffered through. So we may hear Calypso's side of the story at long last."

Enchanted fireflies flickered in the air all around Olympus, and Poseidon began his tale.

Author's note:

Hello there imaginary reader! So this is the first story I've written that I have decided (or even considered) posting. It all feels a little permanent, but here goes nothing!

I can't promise that my grammar will be great, or that my story will be perfect, but I hope you can enjoy all the same.

I don't know exactly when I will be posting, or if I will decide to continue posting this story, but I have had fun writing what I have so far, and planning the story, so we will have to wait and see.

So, yeah! If you're here, thanks! I hope you'll enjoy, and fall in love with Calypso and Melina, just like I have.
