"if he's not here in the next 5 minutes i'm going to go insane" i say, tapping my foot on the floor. it had been at least half an hour since the teacher was meant to return, and i was getting worried.

"what if he's had an accident?" i say to myself, and my breathing gets shakier as my mind fills up with all of the things that could've happened to him.

"hey hey hey" grayson grabs my hands and assures me. i sigh, and lean into his embrace. "he's probably just stuck in traffic" grayson adds, and i nod.

"can you just hold me for a bit longer" i ask, liking the warmth of his body against mine. it was making my stomach do somersaults, and i didn't want to let go.

"of course" he replies, and hugs me tighter. i sigh into his touch, and relax.

"uh, hate to break the lovely moment you two are sharing, but there's been a news update" ethan speaks, and everyone goes to crowd around him and his phone.

"icy roads, and the whole city is loaded with snow" grayson mumbles, reading the title of the article.

"whole city locked inside their homes" i add, and i gasp quietly, knowing what this meant.

"guys we can't leave school" i say, grabbing everyone's attention.

"you've get to be fucking kidding me" josh groans, and slides his hands down his face.

"fuck that, ethan and i are having dinner out tonight" grayson says. "i'm gonna go call my mom"

"same" i say, and run over to where my phone is charging.

"hey, mom?"

"hey sweetie, on your way home?"

"not exactly. have you checked the roads outside?"

"nope"

there's a pause.

"oh my word jordy! how on earth are you going to get home?!"

"i don't know, i guess i'll just wait til' it dies down. mom what if i have to stay here overnight?" i ask, playing with my fingers.

"i mean, it's possible. there's food in the canteen, isn't there? and i bet that someone else there can cook"

"i guess, i mean alyssa is here"

"ah, so you have one familiar face there! i'm sure you'll be fine for the night. and it's not like you have school tomorrow"

"mhm" i hum in agreement. "well, that's all. hopefully i'll see you later tonight?"

"sure sweetie, see you"

"bye"
