I followed Alex through the trees. Nothing interesting. No water. No food. No animals. No life in sight. We are so going to die.

"So..." Alex said.

He was probably trying to start a conversation. I didn't want to talk so I just ignored him.

Alex pursed his lips together and nodded.

Silence came over us as we walked another mile. Then another mile until I saw something. Berries that I knew. Berries that were red and bitter but sweet at the same time. Raspberries.

"Alex." I say.

He turns his head towards me. "What?"

I point to the berries. "Raspberries."

He looks at me and smiles. I run over to the bush and pick one of the branch. I plop it into my mouth. Bitter sweetness fills my mouth. I grab some more and put them in my mouth too. Alex does the same. Atleast now we know we have some kind of food.

"Atleast we know we have some kind of food." I say.

"Alex nods in agreement and shoves more berries in his mouth."

I walk a few more steps forward. My eyes scanning for more berries hoping that we will have more of a supply than this one bush. There are over a hundred of us here. My eyes spot a small tree like figure with blue on them. Blue berries.

"Alex, Blueberries." I tell him pointing at them.

"Theres black berries over there.' He points out.

True enough I look to wear he is pointing and there is a black berry tree.

"Sweet." i say.

I walk over to the blackberry tree and start picking and eating them. Yum.

Alex and I eat more berries silently enjoying their taste and having food in our stomachs. I was starting to get hungry earlier while we were walking.

"We should keep walking." Alex finaly says.

"Yea I agree."

We almost walk away before I see it.

A bunny hops adn eats some berries.

I tap on Alex's shoulder and point at the bunny.

He looks at the bunny then back at me. Not understanding.

"Food." I mouth.

He squints his eyes and stares at me.

I roll my eyes in annoyance. How can he not get it. "The bunny is food." I say slowly.

His eyes widen and he looks at the bunny before smiling at me.

"And if there is one bunny. Then there has got to be more." He says.

"Yes." I agree before walking away.

Alex runs up to me and falls in pace with my steps.

I spot deer and squirrels now too.

"Look at that over there." Alex says.

I look at where he is pointing. I see a rocks that jut out covering a huge part of land. The perfect size for about a grown man to fit.

"It's the perfect spot to build shelters." Alex tells me.

It really was.

"Perfect." I say with a smile.

We walk searching for more valuable resources. We both hear it at the same time. The faint sound of a murmor.

Water.

We look at each other before running towards the sound. After a about a mile, we push through thick leaves and are greated with the site of a huge waterfall with a stream at the bottom.

"Jackpot." Alex mutters.

"Goldmine." I say.

Finding this. The berries. And the rabbits, deer and squirrels. And the pefect spot for shelters. We have everything that we need to survive here in one spot.

"You know what we should do." I say to Alex.

"What?" He asks turning towards me.

"We should split up into states. You know like the united states has California, Arizona, Neveda, New Jersey. We should do that. And we should rule this state and the other searchers could rule the other spots. You know what I mean. We have to have found the best spot." I tell him.

"We shouldn't tell people about what we have found.'

"We have to tell them something." He says.

"We should only tell them about the berries. Let's keep everything else to ourselves. That way the will under estimate what we have." I say.

"Good plan.'
