And I will continue!

3 hours later....

I think I am going to go insane

that was my last thought as I turned down the gravel road that led to the camp, of coarse there was a paved road for all the limousines and rented cars around the front way for the brats, but we were stuck bumping and joshing for the last half hour on the back route.

I mean these new councilors were nice and polite, but there's just so many niceties that you can handle before you crack under the immense pressure from having your heart crushed.

I have to focus on the future and not the past though.

The past hours have gone by uneventful, with both my friends chatting it up with the new recruits, I mostly avoided any conversation at all, although while I was driving I seemed to get a better look at the fresh meat, Rachel seemed to be loud and outgoing, just like Andy. The 3 other guys didn't seem to really be my type. With Spaz being a total player, hitting on both me and Andy, me shutting his down fast but Andy stringing him along, then there was Machlan, he looked familiar in a tip of the tongue way, and Colton was just quiet watching, just like me...

The familiar rusted gates reached into view and I almost cried out in relief, by now the conversation had died down and everyone was staring at out surroundings.

The lush forest stretched out into the horizon, the tops of the tree's were so packed together that practically no sunlight shone through, casting the whole atmosphere into a mythical green glow. This is the view that was pictured in the glossy brochure that all the campers received. Little did the brochure inform that besides this camp there was nothing for dozens of miles except unsurpassed forest full of all the wilds. Just last year I had a camper that ate some mushrooms and was diagnosed medically dead for 4 minutes and 38 seconds before he magically was resuscitated and showed no other symptoms, now that's what I call a miracle.

It seemed that we were the last ones through the gate, the parking lot was full of other vehicles, and I could see SAM at the table handing out sheets of paper and key's to the other councilors.

I pulled into the only other empty spot and killed the engine. I practically jumped out, eager to get some fresh air and to stretch my stiff limbs.

Now time for some fun with Sam.

"SAM, I AM HERE!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

"GOOD FOR YOU CAT!" He responded yelling back, I started to walk over to the table.

"HAVE YOU TOLD RENEE ABOUT YOUR AFAIR WITH THE COOK YET" I screamed even louder, if it was possible.

"NO I WAS WAITING FOR THE RIGHT TIME, BUT THANKS FOR THAT ANNOUNCEMENT" he said laughing, we were joshing of course. He was happily married but we did this whole fiasco every year and breakup or not its a tradition. I had now reached the table and he was laughing at me profusely. I leaned down.

"so what'da have pegged on me this year? Swimming? Arts? rock climbing?" I whispered.

"Wellllllll......" he said slowly

"What then?"I said starting to get worried.

"Please don't get mad at me but I had to put you down as obstacle coarse" he said sadly

"WHAT? Obstacle coarse is the suckiest job EVAR and you gave It to me?, I always knew that you liked Zane better" I said huffily.

I grabbed the key from his outstretched hand, it wasn't that bad to be in charge of the OC but, it seemed like today my most demeaning emotions were being blasted through a megaphone. I was having an off day.
