Jess POV-

"This chicken is kinda dry" I said as I swallowed the dry piece.

Nathan chuckled  "Well we are at a seafood restaurant, maybe chicken isn't their specialty?"

Hi response was kinda snotty. it was our first date and he was being douchie since the beginning. I strunched up my nose at him alittle. I put down my heavy fork and tried to be optimistic.

It's been about 2 months since I broke things off with Luke, I've been trying to forget about him and it seems to be working. He used to run through my mind every hour and then it became once a day, now its just once a week. I don't miss him anymore.

But he does miss me.

I get a text message from him almost every week. I blocked over 5 numbers. All of the messages are poems or just him begging for me back. It's been 62 days according to him. I wish he would just stop. I've tried to tell him to leave me alone.

 I zoned back in from Nathans voice "So... the chicken is $18, thats nice" he said sarcastically.

I shrugged, "It wasnt that bad, came with a free side dish" 

Right after I said that he breath out "the dish is not free, they make people think it is." he said.

I sipped my soda and wanted to just change the conversation "Well what is it like being a freshman in college?" I said.

"Mmmm fine. Professors are know it alls."

I chuckled "Thats alot of teachers I think. Highschool teachers can be a bit-"

"Not the same thing. Highschool is highschool. College is college." He snapped.

I was kinda shocked, this sweet guy that I met at the concert 2 months ago was actually an asshole. I texted him every now and then as I was getting over Luke. But I finally decided to ask him on a date. He seemed nice when we first met and texted. Now he is being pretty rude.

"Well everything is different I guess." I said. He breath in this time "Okay. What do you wanna do after this?" he asked while looking at me in a weird way. "Umm maybe a movie? I didn't think we were doing anything after this but I'm cool with that." I said, unsure that I was even okay with spending anymore time with him.

He laughed "No babe. I mean are we gonna fuck after this or no?" 

I gave myself a few moments to process what he had said. I blinked several times and sipped my soda trying to think of what to say "What the fuck is wrong with you?" I snapped at him.

This time he laughed rather loud and put his napkin down "Well this is what people in college do. They have casual sex. I thought you would be down for that since you just randomly texted me a few days ago." he said.

I just looked at him for a few seconds, he gently grabbed my wrist over the table "Jess, this is what adults do, I thought you were woman enough to know that." he said.

I laughed louder than he did and moved my hand "Do you think I'm some dumb naive girl?" I put $20 on the table and stood up. "What happened to that sweet guy I met at the concert? You're a dick." I said before grabbing my coat.

He stood up and looked around, some people were staring "I'm just trying to get laid right now, not looking for anything serious. I was nice to you cause you gave me a ticket." He shrugged as he said it.

I scuffed "dickhead." and walked out.

I stood infront of the Red Lobster and waited for my Uber, it said 8 minutes away. Unbelievable. As I waited outside I saw people walking pass or going inside, I started to ignore the passing bodies until someone called my name. A familiar voice that made my back tense.

I turned to my left where the voice came from. It was Luke. He looked the same. I froze as he walked up to me. I didn't say anything.

"You look beautiful." He said as his face was shown in the light. I just looked up and felt like crying. Emotions were running through me.

"I'm sorry I've been ignoring you, I just needed space." I said quickly.

He sighed "I can't stop thinking about you, about what I did, I've never regretted anything more in my life." He said as he stared at my lips. I moved back and just looked at him. "Luke I- how did you know I would be here?"I asked confused.

"You put it on snapchat. I just needed to see you. And talk to you." he said as he tucked his hands in his pockets nervously.

My uber ride showed up at the right time "I gotta go, please just learn to let me go Luke, we should both move on." I said as he stood there looking so upset.
