"My Child . . ."

"My child, why do you lust after such things?

Do you not see that what I bring you is worth much more?

Do you not know the price I paid that you may have life?

My child, do not you know that it was I who washed you wounds and wiped your tears?

Do you not know that it was I who brought you up when you were knocked down?

My child, why do you cry?

Do you not know that every step you take away from me, I take towards you?

Return to me, My child. Know that it was for you that I have suffered."
