midnight noir

Why is it so
That the abyss that splits us apart
Is the only link we have?

I remember the last time we met
Half past midnight lying in the grass
Thinking how the stars in your eyes were prettier than any in the sky
You told me the moon would let me find you again
And you laughed too, almost as if you knew something I didn't

I think you fuelled my passion in astronomy
You were my special star among the constellations
Every night I would take a peek through the telescope,
Hoping,
Praying,
To find you again

There is a magic in the night sky
You once said.
It reflects love like the light it shines.

But what is the use of a reflection,
When all it is, is an illusion?
Is it me or is it you?

The night goddess, Nyx,
Never says a word
Only black skies you will see
Your cries she never heard

So tell me why you believe in her,
Why you believe in the moon at all?
