Boom!

I heard an explosion in the distance. The smell of fire and the sound of yelling. Even before I look outside the door, I knew what Berk was being attacked.

I ran outside to meet the other teens. We grabbed a bucket of water each and started to put out the fires.

Dragons occasionally came to Berk and steal food. They also do terrible amounts of damage to the village. Most people would leave. Not us. We're Vikings. Warriors. In fact, killing a dragon is how we fully become a member of the tribe.

We managed to put out a fire when a fireball landed behind us. Me and the teens ran to get more water. When I passed Gobber's shop, I slightly slowed down.

Hiccup is there, as usual doing the only thing he's probably good at. Sharpening blades. I knew that he was looking at us and that he wished he could join in on the action.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. The son of the chief. Unlike his father who is one of the greatest warrior and leader Berk has ever seen, Hiccup is not a warrior. Nor is has he any particular talent. He is useless.

Hiccup has a tendency to wreak havoc during the attacks which cause even more damage to the village. Now I saw him running out pushing an odd contraption on a cart. Off to more trouble are you? I thought as I ran out towards a burning tower. In the distance, I heard a loud screech of a dragon. It must have been taken down. I silently praised the person who had done it. We had almost finished putting out all the fires when out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Hiccup running away from a monstrous nightmare.

Did he seriously try to take it down? Only the toughest Vikings go after those. Hiccup didn't stand a chance!

He hid behind a pole just as the dragon belched out  fire. Hiccup inched around the wood, failing to notice that the dragon was sneaking up from the other side. The dragon was about to attack when The chief ran to his rescue, fighting the dragon with his bare hands and causing it to flee. But the pole that Hiccup was hiding behind and several others crumpled to the ground.

"Sorry, dad." he said as the dragons flew away with entire wagons of food.

"Okay, but I hit a night fury." He said quickly. The chief grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and dragged him away and yelled at him for not obeying orders.

The other teens laughed but I just shook my head. When was Hiccup going to get his head out of the clouds? Hiccup could never kill a dragon, especially a Night Fury. No one ever has and certainty Hiccup wouldn't.

"Get back to the house. And make sure he gets there!" called Stoick to Gobber. Gobber smacked him on the head as he walked by, protecting him from Snotlout attempting to tease him.

Why would they keep him? Everybody dislikes him anyways. I thought. But I knew why the chief was keeping Hiccup. Because he loves him. So I guess not everyone dislikes him. I don't.
