You disgust me

The words found themselves infecting her mind, only seeming to accelerate into even more rabid thoughts every time she read the prison's name glaring across her screen.

She thought she had expelled him with those words. She thought she had removed the summery feeling that made her heart flutter as if it had wings when she saw him. Yet, she always seemed to be wrong when it came to Jungkook.

He always called at midday.

She would always watch as the blank screen was drawn into light, her fingers edging towards the block of electric metal, yet she knew she couldn't.

Just like it always did, the screen reached sunset. The phone no longer calling out her name as the light faded.

Swallowing her feelings back down, not wanting to burn in the feelings he drowned her in even when he wasn't even in her life anymore.

She needed a distraction.

Hi Jieun :)

Jieun
Greta :)) How you doing?

Greta
Good. Are you in school by any chance?

Jieun
No, not yet. I have a lesson in a couple of hours but I'm leaving in a bit. Why do you ask?

Greta
I have to collect textbooks and stuff like that from school since I'm officially leaving next week. I was wondering if you would help me carry the stuff? I can't really be carrying heavy stuff...

Jieun
Yeah sure I would be happy to help :) I'll meet you in the reception at 12:30?

Greta
Sounds good :)

Playing with her navy jumper's sleeves, she stood against the wall, looking up every moment or so. Searching for Jieun who had ceased to show on time.

It was growing to nearly 12:40 and still, Jieun hadn't shown up.

Just as she reached for the phone in her pocket, she heard the main doors click and creak with movement, looking up to see Jieun striding into the reception. Analysing her appearance, it didn't take long to see the dried trail of tears along her cheeks and the light crimson touch in her eyes.

She had been crying.

"H-Hi, sorry I-I'm late." She sniffled, plastering a clearly laboured smile on her face. "Shall we go and get your stuff?"

Greta took her head from side to side. "No... not until you tell me why you've been crying." She quested, meeting her in the barely populated corridor.

"W-What? I'm not—." She attempted to plea, Greta no longer having the patience for this synthetic display of stability from the girl who was clearly eroding into chaos.

"I'm not blind, Jieun!" She broke back at the girl. "Now... are you going to tell me why you're crying? What's happened?" She puzzled, the vexed contortion on her face dissipating as she took Jieun's hands in her own.

She scoffed, a solemn grin infecting her face as she let her head stray for a moment.

"I might as well... they're going to kick me out anyway." She sighed, eyes recoiling back into the vision of Greta. "I didn't get into Seoul University... and then my parents started having a go at me. Just... just continuously taking stabs at me. Saying I wasn't good enough. Saying that I was a disgrace." She explained, Greta seeing the tears swirling her eyes into blindness.
