KUN POV
I was exhausted. It was the first week of being a trainee and I was physically and emotionally drained. Sure, I had imagined that trainee life would require hard work, but there were times where it felt like my efforts were in vain...
Firstly, I'm Chinese and was working with several other trainees. The problem was that I didn't know Korean that well and couldn't communicate with the others or our dance instructors that well.
Second, although my singing was pretty good, my dancing ability wasn't really up to par with what was expected of us. And so the dance instructors would have me stay longer to practice and would scold me if my dancing was deemed 'poor'.
After the dance and vocal training, I would have to go to the language center to work on Korean with several of the other foreign trainees. It was really difficult, but I liked being surrounded by the others because it made me realise that I wasn't alone.
