"Ms. Jackson," Mr. Wilson began.
"Mr. Wilson," I replied.
"We have security footage of you vandalizing our son's vehicle. We aren't going to press charges under one condition," he said.
I really wanted to say, "show me the proof", but I didn't want to push my lucky and they obviously knew. "What's the condition?" I asked.
"You join my family and I for dinner tonight."
That was it? A dinner? Heck yeah, I'll take free food. Odd request, but okay. "Um, okay," I said suspiciously.
"Can you tell Liam to stop egging my sister's car and destroying our apartment." Josh came out of nowhere behind me. I cringed at his demand. They offer to not press charges and he was riding up the prissy train.
Mr. Miller stood back in shock. I guess he wasn't used to being disrespected like that. "I didn't know that was a problem, but I will be sure he behaves himself for now on."
"I also understand you punched my son," Mrs. Miller defended.
"Yeah, because he was being an asshole. He punched Ray like six times," Josh argued.
"Josh," I spited under my breath. He looked at me with a smile and those devilish eyes.
"Well if you come to dinner tonight, we can sort all that out," Mr. Miller suggested.
I nodded, "We'll be there."
"Good," he said. "I'll have someone pick you up in a few hours after you have properly showered and changed." They turned to leave disappearing from view down the flight of stairs.
"I'll have someone pick you up in a few hours after you have properly showered and changed," Jeremy mocked from the floor of the living room.
"What a dick," Josh said.
"Language," I commented. It wasn't even reprimanding him, but it was more of just a casual comment.
"Whatever," he sassed back.
"Let's get ready for tonight," I suggested still confused as heck about what had happened. We egg Liam's car and they invite us over for dinner. It was just weird.
Nine came around and just as promised, someone came to pick us up, but not in the way I imagined. Sitting outside an almost rundown apartment complex was a limo. It couldn't have been more out of place.
"Wow," was all that Jeremy could say. Josh didn't say anything at all. The ride there was kind of pleasant. The limo smelled like a fruity strawberry that made me feel almost fresh. Even the boy's cologne spiced up the limo with their floral berry. They were dressed nicely wearing khakis and a nice pollo along with their Sperry's. I was dressed in a nice floral dress with my black flats.
The way there for me was a little tense and I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect at this dinner and Liam was going to be there. The demons of all demons. I didn't know what his parents wanted, and the dinner didn't seem right to me. I didn't know if it was because they were just trying to be nice, or if there was something else and that's what worried me. The Millers didn't seem to be the generous type of family.
When we pulled up, chills were sent through my body. I didn't feel comfortable coming back to this house after what had occurred a few hours ago. Liam's car was still egged, and yoke was still smeared along the side of it. I smiled briefly at the work we had created.
