I hoped up from bed and walked through the hallway in my white flannelette pyjamas, again placing my hands on my throbbing head. Down the stairs and into the kitchen I began rummaging through the top cupboard looking for a Panadol.
I took a Panadol and put it back, then a pair of long arms wrapped around my waist and lifted me up, scaring the living day lights out of me! Beau, I thought. Ahhhhh! Oh my god! I screamed spinning around and kicking him in the shin. "DO YOU WANT ME TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK ON MY BIRTHDAY?"
" woah Ella it's just a bit of fun" said a confused looking beau.
"Happy birthday might have been a better start" I grumbled walking through to the lounge room. "Whatever grumpy ass, happy birthday" he said following me. "Bit late now" I said hopping up, and walked back up stairs again. Great a throbbing head ache a smart ass brother and now I think about it I think I'm getting cramps. Fuck me. I walked I to Jai and Luke's room and hopped into bed with Luke. I think out of us all Luke an I would have to be the closest. I could talk to him about anything, which was good when I get bullied and stuff which tends to happen a lot.
I felt Luke stir and he slowly opened his eyes, " hello beautiful birthday girl" he said in his croaky morning voice. "Morning" I said with no expression. "time to get up!" I heard jai say with excitement! "Whyyyyyyyy" I said
"Presents!" I remembered! I leaped from Luke's cosy bed and scurried down stairs to find beau with a pile of 3 presents on the couch. It wasn't much but it was all I expected.
I sat down I front of the presents and waited for the boys to come in. And they did right after I chose one signed from your favourite brother I eyed luke and saw him sniggering and nodding. God I love him. I unwrapped the pink polka dotted paper to find a black beanie saying 'ain't no wifey' which I laughed at silently, a new set of pencils and acrylic paints and two new hoodies. I ran to Luke and gave him a big bear hug and he kissed my forehead and whispered a quiet 'love ya' I smiled and walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water.
I walked back into the lounge room when Luke grabbed my wrist and pulled into the corridor. "How are you feeling?" He said. Is this about mum? "Okay I guess" I say "sure you don't need me to go to the store?" What was he on? "What are you talking about Luke????"
"Your period, tom, rag, "aren't you due?" how are you feeling?
"SHIT" I whisper yelled and dashed up stairs leaving Luke there. how could I forget that? The banging head ache the cramps the shitty mood. I'm such an idiot!
