The Five

Questions and Confusing Answers

Once I had left the table to go and get the check, Jax shot up from his seat, actually jumping over the counter and speeding into the kitchen; all to beat Axel to asking Sam out to the attraction that Enzo mentioned a while ago.

Jax: "Sam? I have something to ask!" He apparently couldn't find her, but why? She was giving me the check. 

As soon as she did, Sam turned around only to find Jax standing there, a stain of what looked like water on his shirt. Probably Axel. I placed the money on the counter, and gave them some space, walking back to the booth where Cason and Enzo awaited Jax's words anxiously.

Jax: "Y-Yeah, um... would you maybe want to... uh... there's that new attraction in town, you probably heard about that, but uh... c-could we go there together...? As friends...?" He probably added that last part in case he was rejected.

Sam looked a bit confused during the stammering of Jax, and until he finally forced the words out of his mouth, a small blush came to her cheeks. Thinking for a bit, she finally answers, "O-Okay, we can go, but just as friends, nothing more." I understand why she added that.

The guys back here grinned, finding that Axel didn't make it in time amusing. We all eventually left (but not before cleaning up Cason's coffee puddle), and Jax stayed behind, probably to talk to Sam a bit more. I'll wait and see how this goes for him... and while I wait, I'm gonna go to the supermarket and buy some Eggos.
