"Oh!'" Matt facepalmed and smiled nervously, embarrassed for forgetting one of his oldest friends.  The very idea seemed impossible; they'd been through so much together.

"Has it really been that long?" Tord asked pulling on his hoodie strings "I mean, come on...   I'm not that forgettable, right?" He said with a smirk.

"No, it's pretty hard to forget that annoying voice." said Tom, staring out the window, "Believe me, I've been trying..."

Tord glared at him. Tom took a drink of his water. Edd glared at him.

"What? I didn't..."  Tom started.

Edd coughed, interrupting tom, and giving him a 'be nice'  look.  Tom didn't notice this, or if he did, he didn't show it.  He continued to stare out of the window with a glazed look in his eye.  Edd put on his best smile, trying to lighten the mood.

"So what did you do the past two years while you were gone?  You didn't create any cool new inventions in the big city, did you?"  Edd asked  "We always thought you'd change the world someday. Remember? "

Tord smiled.

"Yes, I remember... I'd be the Worlds Most Renowned Inventor! And you'd-"

"I'd be a World Famous Blockbuster Producer! People all over the world would watch my Movies!" Edd said putting on his best 'show announcer' voice.

"Yeah!"  Matt said smiling " And I'd be the World's Best Architect, Interior Designer, and Model!"

"Yeah, I remember the 'Palace of Light'," said Edd smiling, remembering the fiasco known as the 'Death Ray Palace' to everyone in their neighborhood.

"Hey!  Not all of them can be winners!" Matt said pouting, "I have since then learned not to surround things with mirrors on a hot summer day."

"Hey, tom!" Tord said, "Remember your dream?"

Tord's question seemed to break Tom's train of thought, as the glazed look left his eyes and was replaced with annoyance.

"When are you leaving again?" was Tom's reply.

"Tom! Stop being so rude!" Edd said, flabbergasted by his friend's behavior.

Tom looked at Edd with a puzzled expression.

Edd sighed. "I told you last week, remember?"

"..."

 FLAAAAAAASSHH BAAAAAAAAACK!!!!

"Heeeey, Tom!!!"

Edd called into Tom's room, disturbing the quiet, peaceful sleep Tom had been having. He groaned and buried his head under his pillow.

Edd continued despite his friend's protests. "Tord wants to move back in next week, is that okay with you?"

Tom said nothing, burying himself deeper into his covers. He was clearly oblivious to all of the outside world.

"TOM!" Edd shouted.

"Whaaht abut T-? Suure, whateever-u-want. Leevemee aloneee..."

"I'll take that as a yes!" Edd said, doing a little happy dance.

'The family's getting back together again!'   he thought.

BAAAAAAAAAACK FLAAAAAAAASHHH

"I don't remember that happening!" Tom protested

"It doesn't matter if you remember because it did happen, and you agreed to it!" Edd shot back

"Matt! What do you think? Did this actually happen?" Tom said with such force Matt jumped about a foot in the air.

Matt looked from Tom to Edd, both wearing looks of pure irritation. He gulped and shrugged.

"I wasn't there." he said

Tom grumbled angrily and continued staring out the window. Edd continued glaring at Tom and poor Matt was caught between them.  An awkward silence filled the room.

"Edd!" Tord said, finally breaking the silence "I've been wondering....  Where am I going to sleep?  if it's not a big hassle- could I possibly have my old room back?"

Edd's gaze lost its edge as it turned to Tord.  He smiled and said "Of course!-"

"But that's MY room!" Tom interrupted

Edd thought this a silly notion; Tom already had a room before Tord left.  It was the second largest room in the house,  so Edd couldn't find any reason Tom wouldn't agree to move back in there.

"You can go back to your old room!"  Edd replied, waving Tom's notion away

"But the pipes burst in that room Edd." Matt said, stepping in between Tom and Edd "The walls have to be replastered, not to mention replacing the carpet and repainting the walls-  "

"It would cost a lot, and we don't really have room in the budget right now," Tom said, matter-of-factly

For this, Edd had no answer. This time, it was Matt's turn to suggest a solution.

"... Why don't you two share a room?" Matt said

Suddenly, everyone turned and looked at him.  A wave of nervousness hit Matt, and he turned pink.

"I-I mean.." Matt started fidgeting with his hands "Until we can get the other room fixed... Why don't you and Tord bunk together?  You have the biggest room, so it only makes sense-" He said gesturing at Tom.  When he saw Tom's expression, he quickly dropped his hand and fell silent.

"That's a great idea, Matt!" Edd said pleasantly  "Tord are you okay with that?"

"Erm-" Tord started

"I'll take that as a yes!' Edd said happily "And you Tom?"

"Absolutely not! I will not share my room with anyone, let alone-" Tom started

Then, Edd did the unthinkable. He broke out the only 'use in dire situations' weapon he possessed:  big, brown puppy dog eyes. They always left everyone defenseless.

"Pleeeaaase?" he whined, "I'll buy you a new pair of checkered shoes.."

Tom grumbled, irritatedly. He was not happy with anything about this situation.  But, even after all that, Tom couldn't bring himself to be angry at Edd.  He knew Edd was just trying to do what he thought best for all of his friends... including  Tord.  So, he gave his consent to Edd's request.

"Fine..." Tom said begrudgingly. "But only if he behaves himself."
