"THIS HISTORY PROJECT SUCKS ASS."

Amelia and Taylor's heads shoot up, eyes wandering the room before landing on the figure of Patricia sprawled on the carpet with her history book resting on her face. The two girls laughed as said girl continued to complain about the upcoming history project that would be due right before summer started.

"It wouldn't be difficult if you actually payed attention, Patty."

Lifting the heavy book off her head, Patricia playfully glared before chucking said book at Taylor's head, the latter squealing before jumping out of the way. Amelia groaned before slamming her own book closed, sliding it across the carpet and to her discarded rucksack.

"I'm beginning to think you two are stuck in third grade if I'm being honest." Amelia said, rolling her eyes as the two continued to throw random objects at each other.

"You're just jealous that we're the better looking blondes."

Amelia snorted before picking up one of the many books lying on Taylor's floor and throwing it at the pair, a groan heard as it hit its target.

"I take it back. I bow down to the almighty Amelia." Patricia started before collapsing to the floor in a fit of annoyed mumbles

Amelia breathed out a dramatic gasp, raising a hand to her heart as she wiped away fake tears.

"Is the one and only ice queen giving up her throne?"

"Shut it, Jameson."

Turning back to their books, the trio worked in an odd silence before Amelia's aggravated sigh cut through the silence. Both girls looked questioningly at her as she stood from the floor, brushing off imaginary dirt before slinging her bag over her shoulder.

"I suppose I should be off my fellow blondes, duty awaits. My mother said to be home by six at the latest and you know how she gets when I'm not twenty minutes early."

Both Taylor and Patricia sighed dejectedly before bidding the fair-skinned blonde a farewell, each sharing their respective hug before she walked home. As Amelia slammed the front door closed, Taylor peeked through the yellowed blinds of her window before shutting them quickly.

Patricia looked on confused as Taylor went around her small bedroom ensuring the few windows were closed off by blinds or curtains before quickly shutting her door and locking it. Without another look towards Patricia, the blonde bombshell reached under the stained cabinet that sat at the far end of the wall and pulled out a poster board of some sort.

Patricia's eyes lit up curiously as she peered around Taylor's shoulder and over to the poster board, eyes widening a fraction as newspaper clippings and red lines filled up the entire board. Taylor locked eyes with her before gulping down her nerves.

"Ok so you know how I've always wanted to be a detective? Like, 'ever since we were little' always? I decided to do some digging and, well, take a look at this." Taylor breathes out, eyes fluttering around the room nervously.

Intrigued, Patricia looked more closely at the articles noticing that each one was a report on a missing child. It would've been completely normal if it wasn't for the sheer amount of articles. The amount that isn't normal for a small town like Derry.
