Groaning, the young woman turned around in her bed trying to ignore the loud knocking on her door. Irritated because it wouldn't stop, she tried to lock the sounds out by pulling the spare pillow over her head. After a few moments she had enough. Groaning loudly, she attempted to get out her bed. She didn't notice that her right foot was stuck in the blanket, causing her to stumble face first down on the floor. Fed up with the constant knocking and her now aching face she stood up and made her way to the door. God help the poor soul who stood behind it. Three hours of sleep just weren't enough for her after a tiring first shift in the bar. Opening the door with a jerk, she glared at the boy in front of her.
Yata was just about to turn around as he came face to face with the woman in front of him. Blushing furiously at her attire he glanced sideways. With just a tight shirt and boxer shorts dressed she stood in front of him without even the slightest hint of shame. Her glaring didn't make it easier for him to form his sentences correct. He just stood there, dumbfounded.
This fuelled her anger even more. He had the nerve to knock on her door at 7 in the morning and he couldn't even tell her why the hell he was an annoying brat this early. Of course, Akiko recognized the younger boy as one of the friends of Izumo and Tatara. Too bad for him, because she was furious.
"You have exactly ten seconds to explain why you are interrupting my well-earned beauty sleep or I'm going to punch you so hard you'll be shitting teeth."
Being completely stunned by her choice of words, he couldn't even think about the things he wanted to say.
"So?"
"I...uh...", he cleared his throat.
"I-Izumo sends me. About the d-deal you made yesterday."
"You're kidding me, right? It's to early for this shit."
Shutting the door right into his face, she stomped back into her bedroom.
Standing in front of her bed, she let out a loud groan. She wouldn't be able to go back to sleep now.
Great.
Stomping, the young woman made her way to the kitchen to turn on the coffee machine. If she had to be up this early she needed at least two cups of this liquid lifesaver before anything could be done.
~ a few hours later ~
Still pissed off, Akiko put on her jacket to leave her apartment. Locking the door, she tried to remember the way she had to go to arrive at the bar Izumo told her about. Oh boy, he wouldn't hear the end of it. She couldn't even nap for a few minutes after Yata came. And she was not someone you want to meet after just a few hours of sleep. Let's just say she wasn't the friendliest like this.
Turning around another corner she saw a building with a sign that read 'HOMRA' on the front. Stomping to the door she opened it with jolt. Looking around the bar she noticed Izumo behind the bar. Furious, Akiko made her way over to him. Glaring up at him she grabbed his scarf and brought his face down to her level. Completely surprised, Izumo's eyes widened.
"Listen closely, sweetheart. If any of your minions or you ever dare to wake me up after just three hours of sleep again, I won't hold back. Do you understand?"
It took him a few seconds to comprehend what she told him. Slowly, he nodded his head.
"Perfect."
Turning around, she made her way over to the other side of the counter. She sat down on one of the red bar stools, resting her head in her propped-up elbow.
Izumo was still a bit stunned by her sudden appearance. Clearing his throat, he sat down the glass he was about to polish.
"Do you want something to drink?"
"No, thank you. So, you wanted to talk to me?"
"Yes. We actually have a few questions. Anna said you have a red aura. How comes?"
Staring at him for a moment, she contemplated her answer.
"I lived the last few years in France. It's not uncommon for people to have different auras there. One night I was out drinking with a few friends and I met this shady guy. He gave me the aura, before I even knew what I signed up for. Since then I have it, but I don't really use it. It's kind of just there. Did that answer your question?"
"You got it from a guy in France?"
"Yep", popping the p she looked around the bar for the first time. Noticing Yata with a few other men. After her eyes met Yata's, he blushed furiously and averted his gaze. A little mischief smile formed on her lips.
"Since you are so interested in this aura thing I assume you have one too?"
"I do, yes", he watched her closely, looking for a sign of a lie. He never heard that there were kings in France too, but she seemed completely honest when she told him her story.
"What about the other guys that were with you yesterday?"
"We all have a red aura."
"Anna too?"
"Yes, Anna too."
"Speaking of her, where is she?"
"She's out on a walk with the king", he took another glass and started polishing it.
"The King? Who's that? That sounds like a really bad nickname."
He stopped his actions at that.
"You know about auras and Strains but not about Kings?", he said with disbelief in his voice.
"Should I?", it was her turn now to look confused.
"I.. well I assumed you knew about the whole king thing since you got the aura. The guy that gave it to you, he never told you anything about it?"
"No?"
