I heard to what must've been her feet softly tapping onto the oak wood floor with every step. It brought suspense as her steps became longer and longer, like a never-ending staircase.
I saw her body peer out into the hallway that led straight to the kitchen. She looked at me, giving me a glare like she did last night, but it was more subtle, and what looked as to be tired. She must've been exhausted from being chased by whoever that guy she mentioned yesterday. Her black fur coat glistened from the sunlight that pierced through the window, giving her a beautiful look, yet still a bit scary to say the least.
She made her way to the other end of the table where I was at and sat down on the floor. She was a bit above 3 inches my height, but sitting down made both her and I meet at eye level.
"Well uhh... good morning uhhh-... sorry. I didn't get your name last night."
"1471"
"Wha-... one?-"
"1471"
**"Well that answers my question as to who she is, but her name is just a number?..."**
"Well, good morning 1471. My name's Dave. You can call me whomever you like for short. I didn't make any breakfast yet, since I didn't know what you ate, or... liked..."
She turned her head towards the kitchen to only see the coffee machine and then turned herself back to me.
"That's ok..."
We sat in silence for a bit. Her eyes gave an expression that she expected me to say something back to her.
"So uh, 1471, what are you exactly?"
"A virus"
"... A virus?"
She nodded.
"Liiiiikkkeee... a virus that gets you sick?"
She shook her head in one small shake.
"Like... a computer virus?"
"Well... yes and no. I'm a type of virus that infects your phone mostly. Computers aren't my type of thing, but I can infect them too."
"Hmm, I see... but it still doesn't make any sense as to how you got into the real world."
"Well first... you have to understand my purpose of being a virus as to how I got out."
"Which is?..."
"To make people terminate their own selves."
I froze. Probably more than I ever had in my life. I felt like I was glued to my seat, following up on some suspense from a book being read to me. What she just said to me made my spine shiver up my back into my head. I'm literally sitting across from a killing machine that isn't suppose to be even real! Sweat started to form on my forehead and armpits, but not enough to show my fear to her.
She looked at me, expecting me to say something back to her.
"T-to make people... terminate?... themselves?"
"Yep! Kill themselves, suicide, etc... Once the virus is fully downloaded to the person's device, I start to appear in their photos, mirrors, back of their rear view mirror, the corner of their eye... you get the idea. And it gets intense for the person. Too intense enough to make the person kill themselves.... However, there's very few that it affects entirely."
"H-how so?..."
"To the many of people I've affected, it may be seemed scary to them at some extent when I first come part of their life, but once I start to become an oncoming sight to them, it only jump scares them and they just go about their day. I've had times where they have conversations with me, but I'm usually mute. I usually only wave at them when they try to to make any gesture at me, or even when they wave back."
"Hm, well how come you don't kill them yourself?"
" *sigh*... I guess it's just not in my nature to do it myself. I just make them do the work for me."
"Huh... v-very interesting! **"Yet weirdly stupid"**... Well how come I only saw you when you were in your physical form and not from your virus... thing, app or whatever?"
She was silent. She turned her head to the side and scratched the side of her neck.
"Well... that's the thing. I'm not sure how I got into my full physical state. I found myself in a small abandoned facility with a guy pointing a future-ish type weapon to my head and barking commands at me like a mad man."
"Did you ever catch what the guy looked like??"
"Well... he had a white trench coat on, with some blue scrubs, or joggers... and I believe his coat had on an abbreviation of a company on it..."
"What was it?"
"I think... S... C, P?"
"Hm, SCP...I wonder what it stands for... I'll look into that later for you."
"Thank you..."
"But answer me this, uhh... can I call you something else besides 1471?"
"Sure."
"Hmmm... I'll think of a name for you later, but tell me..."
She gave a look of curiosity and concern, waiting for my long awaited question for her."What makes you here with me, ok for you?"
