Throughout this book, my own headcanons will be in use and just so there are no surprises, I have listed them below:
#1: No magic. A) because I can never figure out how to incorporate that aspect and B) I like looking at STF/EOA with more of a "realistic" view
#2: Gabriel Núñez is Miranda Cordova's (Queen Miranda's) younger half-brother.
#3: Mateo de Alva is Miranda's nephew from her older brother's (Rodrigo) side. (For the record, we still don't know Mateo's real father yet, so I just thought this would be fitting).
#4: Mateo de Alva has a sister who passed away before he got to meet her (this plays a role in his part of the story).
#5: Amber has more than just a friendship with Hildegard (It was already mentioned in the ship list but I just wanted to clarify again in case any one who doesn't agree with that missed it)
#6 Miranda and Lorelei were childhood friends (Lorelei is Roland's first wife for those who either haven't seen the series end or have forgotten)
