Present Day

Kayla

I had arrived at school five minutes ago, and I was already feeling dizzy. Everyone, all of the social groups, from the disoriented with grandeur pretentions, to the social misfits, talked about only one thing. The new student who would arrive at Hydren R.H. High School.

Apparently, Kyle Wilson had gone to the administration office, and heard the secretary talking about the schedule arrangements of a new student.

Kyle told Zoe, Zoe told Sean and so on. Soon the whole school knew.

When you live in a town so small as Rain Forest, any novelty turns transcendental.

A new student was almost comparable to saying a Hollywood star had come visit. That meant she would be the center of attention at school, and maybe even the town. Translation? She would be their new toy.

"Poor girl does not know on what she is getting herself into."

She hadn't yet arrived, and thousand of things were already being rumored about her.

Everyone wondered if she would be cute or just another girl from the bunch. If she would be a queen bee or a smart ass. Blonde or brunette? Grade? How had she managed to enter at the end of the year? In short, all sorts of unimaginable things.

They talked so much about her that I was already bored. I was standing under one of the threes, waiting for Jill, when the bell rang announcing the start of the school day, to the disappointment of all the students that were waiting at the border of a curiosity overdose.

I saw Jill's mother's car stopping at the entrance. I owned a car but Jill didn't, and on top of that she lived at the other side of town. I could pick her up but her mother didn't allow it.

That implied that she had to wait every day for her mother to argue with her stepfather, then for them to get dressed, for them to argue again, eat their breakfast between work conversation, and then finally take her to School.

I saw Jill walking towards me and smiled. We walked together to our first class, English. The only one we took together besides physical education and Calculus. Of course thoose didn't count as classes, more like tortures provided by teachers as revenge for taking care of us all day.

Dorian

There she was, just steps away from me, in the middle of the hall and the bustle. She was searching for something in her bag and looking as beautiful as ever. Looking at her I forgot how to speak, how to talk or even think.

"How am I'm going to win her over if our conversation don't go beyond "hello's", if every time I'm around her I look like a retard, or a guy with some sort of mental incapability." I thought to myself.

I took a step towards her. I petrified again when she turned in my direction. When she saw me she smiled. "Hi, Dorian." Her smile was so beautiful. Almost hallucinating.

"Hi." was my brilliant answer.

"Kayla!" someone called her named. I didn't have to turn to know who it was. I knew that irritating voice.

Kayla stopped looking at me and dedicated her perfect smile to Kristian. "Since when do these two talk."

Kristian was the guy I hated the most at school. The hatered was mutual. Even though, of course he had the advantages.

"Babe, there is going to be a party at Michael's house." While talking, he eyed Kayla up and down.

"Are you going?" he asked with all the charm, just then he noticed me. He looked at me with a superiority only he was capable of.
