I woke up the next morning in the guest room where I had fallen asleep. Though I didn't really sleep. I couldn't tell if the conversation with Shawn last night was a dream but on god I was hoping it was. There was no way he was in love with me. I couldn't sleep because of what Shawn had said and I was also really nervous for the gender reveal.
He'd only fully known me for like a month? You can't fall in love that quickly.
He did say he was in love with the baby and that made my heart flutter in ways I had never felt it before.
When I woke up Shawn wasn't laying next to me and it made me feel a little bit upset, but I crawled out of bed anyways and walked down to the kitchen where both of our mothers were up and awake, trying to put things together for the party.
"Good morning," Karen said as she walked towards me and gave me a small hug. "How are you feeling?"
"The baby kicked last night for the first time," I replied and both she and my mother gasped, causing me to laugh. "Um, have you seen Shawn? I need to talk to him about something."
"He and the boys went to go get some balloons," my mom replied.
"Boys includes dad?" I asked, walking towards the counter to look at everything that they had already set up.
Shawn and my dad bonding made me nervous. I know my dad would never do something as stupid and cliche as threaten Shawn, but my dad definitely wasn't happy at the fact that Shawn was the one to get me pregnant. My dad loved Shawn and his music and was super happy to be a granddad now, but the fact that Shawn was a celebrity scared my dad in a way. He just didn't want me to end up alone.
"He, Dad and Manny. Brian and Zubin went to get the cake, Aaliyah and Immy went to go pick up a few decorations from that shop I told you about, and everyone else is just out exploring I suppose." My mom told me as she continued to place little macarons on a white plate.
"You guys have everyone doing errands," I smiled, "Everything looks great, is there anything I can help with?" I asked.
"Absolutely not." Karen said. "This day is about you, please just relax and start getting ready."
