Masked Elements

Chapter One

Vahn sat on the railing of the balcony to his room, taking the view of the Metal community. A knock was on his door but he paid no need. The door opened and in came a man with blond hair and deep blue  orbs. He paused first before smiling sadly and approached him.

" Thinking about your marriage later, Vahn?" The blonde man said

" I still don't think getting married is going to fit into my plans." Vahn replied, still not moving from his position.

" There's still a lot to do without the responsibility of being a husband."

" But your marriage will help your family. The Ire's are one of the most powerful families in our community after yours. Marrying their daughter will be one of the last steps on restoring your family's hold in our community."

" Why can't you be the one to marry her?" Vahn said turning to face him.

" Seriously, Gib. You're part of our family, you're my cousin. You can go marry her instead of me."

" We've already had this conversation, Vahn. I maybe part of your family but I'm only an indirect part of your family, on the other hand, you are the direct heir apparent to your father's throne and with that you have duties."

" I didn't think marrying was one of those." Vahn said

" Sooner or later, you'd have to marry."

" I know, but not to the Ires. Lei is okay but I'm not that crazy to get married to her in my own free will."

Gib looked at Vahn intently before saying

" Ykasha's gone now, Vhan. Forget her."

" I can't seem to. "

" She's dead now. "

" She never knew how much i cared for her, how much I loved her. The war took her away from me, Gib."

" Even if she was alive, you would still be obliged to marry Lei, Ykasha's from the Wind Community she does not benefit our community."

And Vahn just looked away

" Forget her Vhan." Gib said

" Forget her and marry Lei. That's all you can do for now. "

Gib was about to leave when he noticed a picture on Vhan's desk. It was a picture of three friends: one was the red-haired Vahn, the other was another man, gray haired and gray eyed. His name was Okken, from the mysterious Water community. The last one was the dark brown haired and black eyed Ykasha.

Gib just sighed to himself.

" I'll see you later, Vahn." He then left Vahn to his memories.
