Twilight POV
"Come On! Faster, girls! We don't have much time left!" I stumbled over my own hooves as I charged through the forest, back to Equestria.
"You know, you could do it a lot faster when you fly," Rainbowdash replied, fuming. She had raced ahead, notified everyone in the castle, and then raced back.
"I can't do that! I can't even THINK!" I snapped, heart racing.
"Do you think the pony was lying?" Applejack inquired.
"No! When I went to the castle, the two princesses weren't there!" Rainbowdash shook her head worriedly, "There were reports of a mysterious black mist attacking, and the entire castle..." she gulped uneasily, "Was melted into a puddle of goo."
"No way! That-- That's impossible! The castle is made of the highest quality gems in all of Equestria!" Rarity stuttered, faltering in her step a bit.
"Move, Rarity!" Pushing her from behind, Applejack strained to keep both of them going at the fastest pace they possibly could go.
"So that's what the letter meant," mumbled Spike, who was on my back.
Much earlier, Princess Celestia had sent a letter, saying something was coming. So that was the foreshadowing.
I had no idea had was coming after that. After overcoming passing challenges, we finally managed to save our friends, who were ponynapped. But then, we lost the princesses. The ponynapper was none other than the true queen of Equestria herself.
And we had to save the princesses within three days, with nothing but a piece of paper as a clue.
Exit this place

Leave your town
Into the castle
Pray for help
See your reflection
Enter a new world.
Or so the paper had said.
And now, we were supposed to decipher it as soon as possible. But first, we needed to do the first thing the list or poem or whatever had stated: Leave the forest. For all we know, the princesses' fates depend on it.
And so, upon reaching Ponyville, we are going to find out what the riddle means.
