I opened my eyes. It was blurry and a bright light was aiming straight at me. The beam started to fade and I could make out two shadowy figures standing in front of me. I looked around and realized I was sitting on a wooden chair, my hands tied at my back. My mouth was shut by a tape covering my lips. A tall, slender guy about in his 20s removed the tape covering my mouth, harshly and asked, “Where is the girl who cries golden tears?” The what? I didn’t know what he was talking about. “The girl?!” he repeated. “I’m sorry. I don’t –”, he slapped me. Hard. “Again, where is the girl?” “The girl who cries golden tears?” the second guy, about two inches shorter than the second guy and was more likely to be older than him, asked me. “I don’t know. I know nothing of this girl who cries this golden tear you’re talking about. You got the wrong person.” I answered nervously, expecting a slap again. But instead, the two of them walked away and began talking. I could barely hear what they were saying, but I know they were arguing. Their hand gestures say so. I was preparing for a fight between them and was praying that I wouldn’t get caught in the middle of their brawl. Trying to forget about the possibility of me getting punched in the guts by two strangers, I started thinking about what they said. About the girl who cried golden tears. Is that even possible? I mean, if this girl does exist, it wouldn’t be me. I cry normal tears, tears that are made up of water and pain, not gold. It just couldn’t make sense, what kind of person cries golden tears? And why are they kidnapping me? Why not kidnap the girl, herself? Besides, they already knew what she looked like; they just didn’t know where to find her. I didn’t know where to find her! Hell do I even know who she is! A few seconds passed when I realized I was starting to cry. The stress of this whole situation, the thought of not going to be able to see my family and friends, and just the thought that I could possibly die here in the hands of two random dudes. It got to me. I mean, who wouldn’t be scared? I don’t even know where we are. All I could see are boxes with a big red X mark on them and shattered glass windows. Who knows what’s inside those boxes – dynamites, grenades, firearms? I was sweating like hell. I even felt like I would pee in my pants. Then I realized, I was still in my PJs. I was wearing a pink angle-length pajamas and a laced strapless blouse. They captured me when I was asleep! Hadn’t my mom heard them took me? Have they hurt my mom? The thought of them hurting my mom made me snapped. I shouted, “HEEEELP! HEEEELP! Can someone here me? I’m here inside! HEEELP!” The two guys turned to my way and run towards me, covering my mouth when they finally reached me. “My fault. I forgot to cover her mouth.” said the tall guy. “It’s okay. Nobody would hear her. It’s 2 in the morning and we’re in the middle of nowhere.” It’s 2 in the morning? I think to myself. I knew I was in so much trouble. Even if we were near some houses, they still wouldn’t hear me since they’re probably sleeping and my mouth is shut now. “Should we let her go?” ask the first guy. “I don’t know. I mean, what’s the point of going to the trouble of bringing her here if we would just let her go in the end?” “She has no use. She knows nothing about the girl and the golden tears.” They looked at me again and asked, “Are you sure you don’t know anything about the girl? ‘Cause if you do, and you’re just hiding what you know, we will seriously kill you.” I stumble on my words but said, “No, nothing! Absolutely nothing!” The shorter guy turned to his partner and said, “What if she tells this to the police?” “She won’t, right?” I nod slightly. I couldn’t promise them that, but as of now, I had to tell them I wouldn’t tell them to the cops. “Besides, she doesn’t know us. She never had the chance to see our faces.” Right! I never had a look at their faces, all I knew was one was short and one was tall. That wouldn’t really widen the chances of the cops finding these mugs. They walked away again and I was praying that hopefully they would let me go. The next thing I knew was I was hit by a hard wooden object.
