The sun beamed through the windows of the room that Javier and Ronnie were sleeping soundly in.Ronnie stirred and opened her eyes, gazing at the window and the light outside, as she went to get up she was restricted by something holding her.
She turned to see Javier snuggled up to her.'He is cute but I'm sure he didn't mean to do this' Ronnie thought. She carefully tried to remove his arms from around her waist but when she gently grabbed his wrist he squirmed.
"No... don't leave" He murmured against her back.
'Huh?' Ronnie stared at him for a moment before trying to remove his arms again and then he opened his eyes, pulled her back down onto the bed and crawled over her.
"Stop it. Stay." He scolded, and stared into her eyes, locking her in place beneath him. Heat flooded her face and she looked away from his gaze.
"Why do you look away from me?" Javier asked, concerned.
"You're awful close to me, Javi, personal space please" Ronnie answered awkwardly.
"I know" he purred closer to her face and Ronnie closed her eyes tight and wriggled in his grip.
Javier let her go and sat up, straddling her hips and staring down in amusement at her flushed face.He laughed "It's incredible! The effect I have on you, mi amor" he smirked.
"Stop saying that, Javier! Now let me get up!" Ronnie growled and she pushed him back. Javier threw his arms back as he fell off the bed and hit the floor with a thud.
Ronnie scrambled to the edge of the bed and looked down."Oh Javi! I'm sorry!" She apologized quickly. Javier waved his hand and groaned as he got up.
"I'm okay. ¡Mierda!" He cursed quietly, holding his back.
"We should get going again today, huh?" Ronnie asked.
"Sí, I think that would be a good idea" Javier replied.
They got ready and headed downstairs. Ronnie thanked the bartender and returned the key to him before going outside with Javier.
They both checked on their horses and mounted up."Hey! Excuse me?" A voice called out from across the street and Ronnie looked over her shoulder.
There was a man on a horse looking towards her."Yeah?" Ronnie answered.
"Y-you're the one who killed my daddy! you should be in prison!" The man realized.
"I think you have me mistaken, my friend!" Ronnie called out, and looked at Javier and back to the man.
"No no. I could never forget! I'm getting the law!" He yelled as he spurred his horse to turn around and gallop off.
"I guess I'm going to have to deal with him. Hyah!" Ronnie announced as she galloped off after the man, leaving Javier to stare in confusion but he soon followed.
Ronnie chased the man out of Blackwater and across the plains until he came to a broken bridge.
His horse bucked him and ran away.
The man grabbed the bridge at the last second, dangling from the edge that was threatening to break under his weight."Help me!" The man called from the edge.
"I'll help you if we come to an agreement on something!" Ronnie bargained.
"Y-yes, of course whatever it is!!" The man panicked as his grip became weaker.
"I did not. shoot. your father." She said, Javier came trotting over and dismounted walking up to Ronnie.
"Okay! I won't say a word! Just please help me!" The man begged.
Ronnie looked at Javier and they walked over the the edge of the bridge, they leaned down to help the man up.
When he was on solid ground he promised he would never say anything, and Ronnie made sure to warn him."I'll make sure of it, hermano" Javier said and he scowled at the man who then scurried off in fear.
"Well that was eventful" Ronnie said and Javier laughed.
"Ay, that it was mí amor." He smirked and moved closer but Ronnie put her hands to his chest and stopped him from coming any closer.
"Javier, we've known each other all of two and a half days, I don't think this is right" she said.
Javier sighed "Ah, who was I to think you'd love someone like me"
Ronnie frowned at this and placed a hand on his cheek."It's not that I don't like you, but we should get to know each other better first" Ronnie reassured, Javier nodded and then they mounted up and rode off again, headed for the small trading post and visitor town of Strawberry.
It was late when they got there and they decided to stay in the hotel for the night instead of camping.
When they reached the room it was the same as Blackwater; one bed."Well, same again I suppose" Ronnie sighed. Javier noticed this and frowned he saw this as her being sick of his company.
They climbed into bed next to each other and stared at the ceiling, like before. Javier turned over on his side, facing away from Ronnie and she noticed he didn't say goodnight.
She looked around for a minute then moved closer to him.
She wrapped her arms over him and placed a kiss to his cheek."Buenos noches, mi amor"
And she snuggled into his back.
To see the look on Javier's face was priceless.
As red as a summer tomato.
